Fresh after the win of their record breaking colt Don Eduardo in Saturday's
Group One Australian Derby at Randwick, the Gooree Pastoral Company have purchased a colt
closely related to their latest star for $550,000. Bidding for the striking bay colt kicked off at $350,000 and then rose in
$25,000 increments before being knocked down by auctioneer Reg Inglis to Gooree for
$550,000.
Like Don Eduardo, the colt was offered by Sir Patrick and
Lady Justine Hogan's Cambridge Stud.
The filly is out of the winning Ahonoora nare Abbaye, a half
sister to the brilliant stakes winners Danewin and Commands.
Abbaye is already the dam of Taimana, a Woodman filly, who
was a recent stakes winner at Flemington. Her three runners on the track to date have all
been winners.
