        Collingrove Stud's
super sire Rory's Jester has sired yet another stakes winner.
This time it came in the form of his attractive chestnut
gelding Jai's Jump who leapt to a stakes race win in the listed Hyland Sportswear Stakes
        (1300m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
Despite jumping from the extreme outside barrier of the
field the Bill Mitchell trained three-year-old was too good winning by a long head.
Among the beaten brigade were stakes performers Red
Hannigan, Magic Hatter, The Big Chill, Academe, On a High, Participate and the boom
        Canberra galloper Into the Night.
Saturday's listed race success was the third consecutive
        win for Jai's Jump.
At his previous two starts he had sat close to the pace
before powering home to score at Canterbury and Newcastle respectively.
As well as Jai's Jump, Rory's Jester is also the sire of
the top class gallopers Isca, Racer's Edge, Chortle, Aragen, Moss Rocket, Spargo, Light Up
The World, Happy Giggle, Catnipped, Armidale, Time Out and the recent Newmarket Handicap
        runner-up North Boy.
From a speed packed family Rory's Jester is out of the
Group Two winning Roan Rocket mare Rory's Rocket. As well as her champion sire son, she is
also the dam of stakes winners Rory's Twig and Sushi Rocket.
Another of Rory's Rocket's daughters Rory's Girl, an
unraced Without Fear mare, is the dam of the stakes winning Crown Jester mare Very Droll.
Very Droll, who is a three quarter sister to Rory's Jester,
is the dam of the brilliant Ha Ha and her listed winning brother Dry Humour.
Rory's Jester, a flashy chestnut son of Crown Jester,
himself was a sensational two-year-old. So classy he was at two he beat a quality field in
the Group 1 Golden Slipper at Rosehill during his first season on the track.
It was no surprise after eight starts for five wins and
three seconds he was voted the Champion 2YO of Australasia for the 1984-85 season. |
