Choisir has given his sire
Danehill Dancer his first Australian Group winner when he swept away with another feature
race on his way to the world's richest two-year-old event. Already the winner of two of his four starts in top company, the Paul Perry
trained colt scored an effortless win in Saturday night's Group Three Skyline Stakes at
Canterbury Park in Sydney.
Despite the winning margin of the colt being only a length
and a quarter, the ease of the victory was clearly seen by any who watched the race being
run.
Jockey Lenny Beasley had one of the easiest winning rides
of his career when he guided the colt home to beat Emerging Star and Charlie Bub.
Choisir is now rated the one to beat for unbeaten Melbourne
colt Bel Esprit in the Golden Slipper at Rosehill later this month.
Already this season in Australia Danehill Dancer has been
represented by three other stakes performers - Pirouettes, Jar Jar Binks and the exciting
youngster Dynamic Dancer.
The latter was one of the early Slipper favourites before
going amiss.
There's little surprise the progeny of Danehill Dancer are
proving to be up with the best in the Southern Hemisphere after the success he has been
recently receiving up north.
With star gallopers like Lahinch, Lady Dominatrix, Ziria,
Where and When and Peggy Guggenheim, the Danehill Dancer success story is beginning to be
felt right around the world.
As well as no fewer than 22 winners in Australia, the Group
One winning son of Danehill is also the sire of the unbeaten Malaysian galloper Luxury
Liner. |
