The three quarter brother to
the champion galloper and exciting young sire Octagonal has sold for $1.05 million during
the final stages of the second session at the New Zealand Premier Yearling Sale at Karaka
this evening. Offered by Cambridge Stud, the
home of Zabeel, the colt was catalogued as lot 257 and was knocked down to New South Wales
based stud Emirates Park.
He is from the Captain Cook (G1) Stakes winner (Our)
Marquise, a galloper who was also a Group winner in both Adelaide and Melbourne.
The nine time winning mare is a daughter of the champion
broodmare Eight Carat. The champ Eight Carat, who died in 2000, is the dam of Group One
winners Octagonal, (Our) Diamond Lover (dam of Tristalove, Perruzi and Antwerp and grandam
of Viking Ruler), Kaapstad, Mouawad and the dam of Danewin, Commands and Philidor. |
