The first day of the National
Yearling Sales Series at Karaka in New Zealand will kick off at 6pm (local time) tomorrow. The initial session, which has 80 lots catalogued, is the first in a
week long sale in which hundreds off horses will change hands.
Cambridge based Trelawney Stud will offer the first lot, a
bay filly by the exciting former shuttle stallion Tale of the Cat. The filly is out of the
Western Symphony stakes winning mare Yankee Gold. Lot one is a half sister to three times
stakes winner Joan's Best.
An Australian bred will be the first colt offered. Lot two a
brown colt by Octagonal is being offered by Highview Stud - the home of Kashani, Senor
Pete and Align. The colt is out of the American stakes winner You Dreamer.
The first of 53 yearlings by the local king in the breeding
world Zabeel will be sold just moments later. Lot 7, a bay filly, is out of Zonal a
winning three quarter sister to Victory Prince and half sister to Artist Man and Sudden -
who is the dam of Burst.

Desert Sun. From the Brisbane Cup winner Barbut Delcia.
Lot 35 - half sister to dual Group One winner Ray's Hope and
Group Two winner Star Defence by Volksraad.
Lot 37 - half brother to Group One winner Merry Maiden (no a
stakes producer) by promising young sire Danasinga.
Lot 40 - three quarter sister to Group Two winning mare
Singalong.
Lot 47 - half brother to two time Group One winner Jolly Old
Mac by former champion galloper Generous.
Lot 48 - bay colt by champion Zabeel from Group One Railway
Handicap winner Cannsea.
Lot 50 - bay colt by exciting young sire End Sweep and from
the WA Derby winner Capricious Lass.
Lot 63 - Half brother to G3 winner Zino Belle. By champion

Lot 68 - First foal of G2 winner Close Your Eyes - by
