Danehill Dancer's brilliant
two-year-old Choisir made up for his unlucky last start defeat by brilliantly winning the
$400,700 William Inglis Classic at Warwick Farm on Saturday. Trained by Paul Perry, Choisir was again sluggish out of the gates but after
working his way through the field then burst clear in a dazzling performance.
Jockey Lenny Beasley hardly raised a sweat as the $55,000
yearling purchase stormed away from the previously unbeaten Melbourne invader Pillaging.
Choisir's classic win joins his listed Breeders' Plate win
which he achieved at his first start.
It's not surprising that Paul Perry was back looking for
another Choisir at the Sydney Classic Yearling Sale over the past two days.
Perry, obviously taken by the natural ability of his star
Danehill Dancer youngster, picked up two yearlings by the sire.
Not content with the success of Choisir, Danehill Dancer
notched up another winner this afternoon when the filly Systematic Lass scored at Wyong in
New South Wales.
A dual Group One winner of the National Stakes at The
Curragh and the Phoenix Stakes at Leopardstown, Danehill Dancer was rated the Champion
Two-Year-Old of Ireland.
Now the attractive son of the legendary Danehill, is one of
Australia's hottest young stallions. |
