In the wake of Heritiere's success in Wednesday's
$100,000 Silk Stocking Handicap on the Gold Coast, another daughter of Anabaa has got into
the winning style, this time in Adelaide. The
Tony McEvoy trained Anacarde, from is from the Khozaam mare Seattle Gem, had a lovely run
in today's Thank You TABRadio Handicap (1250m) and drew clear over the concluding stages
to score.
Anacarde, who had run an eye catching second at her previous
start at Cheltenham Park, was ridden to victory by Paul Gatt, and she led home a McEvoy
one-two.
Second home was the fellow Lindsay Park trained colt Brandy
Cruster (Hennessy), while the Michael Moroney trained debut performer Money Belt (Ascot
Knight) was third.
Anabaa made a dynamic start to his French and Australian stud
careers after earlier making a name for himself on the track.
His first local crop made every post a winner early in the
season. Among his early star performers was the explosive Sydney filly Donna Natalia. |
