The first foal of the Sydney stakes winner Unison
will be making her debut run in Sydney on Saturday. Kidman,
as the filly has been named, has been primed to run boldly by trainer Clarry Conners in
the Cabra-Vale Diggers 2002 Handicap.
At her only public appearance to date Kidman impressed with a
two and a half length barrier trial win at Warwick Farm on December 21.
Interestingly though Corey Brown, who was aboard the filly in
her only trial, will be riding Eminently, who was third to Lovely Jubly and Sunday Joy
last start. It will be Brown's first ride on that youngster on Saturday.
Unison, a daughter of Marauding, retired from the racetrack
after just 13 starts. In that time she registered six wins and three minor placings. Her
best win cames in the Birthday Card Quality and Widden Stakes, while a third in the Group
One The Galaxy was one of her best ever runs.
Kidman's grand dam, Zedagal (by The Judge) won three of her
13 starts including the Group Three Blue Diamond Prelude for fillies at Caulfield in
Melbourne.
Kidman, who is by Quest for Fame, is the first foal of
Unison. Since then Unison has produced a present day yearling colt by Grand Lodge. That
yearling will be sold on the Gold Coast next week as lot 391 at the Magic Millions sale.
In an attempt for a full relation to the yearling colt the mare returned to Grand Lodge,
but sadly for connections she missed.
