Track: GOODRACE 1 -INSPECTOR BURNIE
CINDERS 2 YO MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000M
Our World reared on jumping and lost ground.
Hey Pretty Momma was slow to begin.
Our World was inclined to lay out approaching the
home turn.
Near the 400M when being steadied off the heels of Our
World, Field Commission shifted out and bumped Magic World.
H Bowman (Field Commission) stated
that whilst his intention was to go to the outside of Our World prior to the home
turn, he was unable to do so as Field Commission, which was
inclined to race greenly, was not travelling well enough at that stage of the race.
A post race veterinary examination of Our World,
which compounded quickly in the straight and tailed off, found the filly to be mildly
distressed.
RACE 2 - STATE EMERGENCY SERVICE MAIDEN HANDICAP (DIV 1)
1200M
Jerash was slow to begin.
When being restrained near the 800M in an attempt to obtain
cover, Miss Electra had to be steadied off the heels of Jerash,

RACE 3 - NEW SOUTH WALES FIRE BRIGADES MAIDEN HANDICAP
(DIV 2) 1200M
Occular was crowded on jumping between Speed Time and
Ice Crusher.
Lord Rory cast its near hind plate in running.
Dancing Fame raced greenly throughout.
When questioned regarding Lord Rory racing more
forward today than at its first start on 3 January 2002, R M Quinn stated that his
instructions today had been similar to those given at its first start, those being to
obtain a position on the pace. He said on that occasion however the gelding was unable to
go the fast early pace and he was obliged to race further back than anticipated. He added
that when the pace slackened today in the middle stages he found himself in a more forward
position.
When questioned regarding his tactics on An Honor in
the early stages, H Bowman stated that the filly, which was resuming today, jumped well
and sat outside Speed Time until near the 1000M. He said after being inclined to
overrace he was content to allow Lord Rory to cross him and take a trailing
position in an endeavour to allow An Honour to settle to see out the 1200 metres
journey. He added that with the pace steadying in the middle stages, and after making
contact with Jumeira near the 500M, An Honour was unable to sprint and
finish the race off. H Bowman acknowledged that having obtained a position outside the
leader in the early stages he may have been better suited crossing Speed Time and
leading of his own accord.

in turn bumped the hindquarters of Time Rules resulting in Time Rules being
turned inwards across Armagnac which as a result had to be checked.
A post race veterinary examination found Armagnac to
be displaying signs of severe respiratory and heat distress. Mr S Perry, representing
trainer P Perry, was advised that the stable would be required to tender a veterinary
clearance for the filly prior to its next start.
