When the gates opened, "Campaign"
knuckled.
RACE 2 - WINDBRUSH COTTAGE B & B TRAFALGAR
MDN PLTE (1).1200 M.
After being loaded into the barriers, "Arkmann"
reared and became cast. "Arkmann" was taken from the barrier and examined by the
Club's Veterinary Surgeon and declared unfit to race. Acting on this advice, Stewards
ordered the withdrawal of "Arkmann" at 12.15 p.m. Subsequent to the race,
Stewards further ordered the following betting deductions.
All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting to be refunded and that all
successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following
deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: WIN BETS: 19 cents
PLACE BETS: 16 cents WINNING CONCESSION BETS: 18 cents DOUBLES BETS: 19 cents. All monies
bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.
Shortly after the start, "Not But The Brave" had
to be eased due to "No Debate" shifting in slightly after being bumped by
"Sudden Warning".
Approaching the 800 metres, "No Debate" and
"Kelly Bay" brushed. Near the 600 metres, "A Thousand Drinks" had to
be eased off the heels of "No Debate".
For the majority of the race, "Just Highlights"
hung out.
RACE 3 - CREEK COTTAGE B & B TRARALGON MDN PLATE
(2). 1200 M.
After being loaded into the barriers, "Ocean
Lake" reared and became cast. "Ocean Lake" was then taken from the barrier
and inspected by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon and declared unfit to run. Acting on this
advice, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of "Ocean Lake" at 1.26 p.m. Subsequent
to the race, Stewards further ordered the following betting deductions.
All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting to be refunded and that all
successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following
deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket WIN BETS: 2 cents
PLACE BETS: 2 cent WINNING CONCESSION BETS: 2 cents and DOUBLES BETS: 2 cents. All monies
bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.
Near the 400 metres, "Bardon Hill" had to be
checked when tightened for room between "Karma" (N. Callow) which shifted out
slightly and "Branch Of Gold" (M. Allen) which shifted in slightly. Both N.
Callow and M. Allen were notified to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
Near the 100 metres, "Bardon Hill" had to change
course to obtain a clear run.
RACE 4 - YARRAGON VILLAS ON CAMPBELL B & B
MDN PLATE. 1900 M
Approaching the winning post, "Crystal
Draw" brushed the running rail when racing tight on the inside of "Aedes".
RACE 5 - BRIGADOON B & B NEWBOROUGH F & M CL
4 H'CAP. 1200 M
In today's Race Book, the starting time for Race 5 appears
as 3.45 p.m., when in fact, the scheduled starting time was 2.45 p.m.
Shortly after the start, "Aerialist" commenced to
buck for some distance before being pulled up near the 800 metres. Mrs. J. Scott, part
owner/trainer of "Aerialist", was notified that the mare was now suspended from
racing until she performs to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an organised trial.
RACE 6 - YARRAGON COUNTRY RETREAT B & B CLASS 5
H'CAP 1430 M

RACE 7 - WORKSAFE VICTORIA CLASS 1 HANDICAP.
1100 Metres.
Acting on a report from the Starter regarding the behaviour
of "More Moet" when being loaded into the barrier, Stewards notified Ms. M.
Rizzo, part owner/trainer of the gelding that Stewards were placing a warning gainst
"More Moet" and that should it perform again in a similar manner, action may be
taken against it. Ms. Rizzo was further notified that she must be in receipt of a Barrier
Test Certificate before racing again.
In the early and middle stages of the race, "Real
Ticker" raced greenly.
Near the 800 metres, "Real Ticker" shifted in and
brushed "Red Cheval" in onto "Unhurried Days".
Approaching the 500 metres, "Real Ticker" had to
be checked when tightened for room between "Red Cheval" which shifted out and
"Tiarna's Girl" (N. Callow) which shifted in. N. Callow was notified to exercise
more care when shifting ground in future.
Near the 100 metres, "Real Ticker" had to be
checked off the heels of "Red Cheval" which was taken out by "Unhurried
Days" which shifted out.
RACE 8 - CLEARVIEW FARM B & B FERNDALE
CLASS 3 HCAP 1900 Metres.
Near the 300 metres,"Boortkoi Breaker" had to be
eased off the heels of "Willunga Lad" which shifted in.
RACE 9 - MIRADOR SPRINGS B & B TRAFALGAR
CLASS 2 HCAP 1430 M
In the mounting yard, "Sovereign Swamp" reared
over. On arrival at the barrier, "Sovereign Swamp" was examined by the Club's
Veterinary Surgeon and was deemed unfit to run. Acting on this advice, Stewards ordered
the withdrawal of "Sovereign Swamp" at 5.19 p.m. and subsequently ordered the
following betting deductions.
All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting to be refunded and that all
successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following
deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: WIN BETS: 7 cents
PLACE BETS: 8 cents WINNING CONCESSION BETS: 7 cents and DOUBLES BETS: 7 cents. All monies
bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.
Shortly after the start, "Brequillo" had to be checked off the heels of
"Our Ebony" which was taken in by "Rhymes" which shifted in.
"Master Jago" which was following, was hampered in consequence.
Approaching the 200 metres, "Rancho Caught" was
slightly inconvenienced when "Nanbrooke Princess", which had a tendency to shift
in, then shifted in slightly.
Prior to correct weight, N. Callow, rider of "Rancho
Caught", the second place-getter, wished to view the Stewards patrol video of the
straight before deciding whether to lodge an objection. After viewing the film, N. Callow
decided not to proceed and correct weight was declared.
SWAB SAMPLES -
Routine swab samples were taken from the following winners:
RACE 1 - "Campaign"
RACE 2 - "Yo Picasso"
RACE 5 - "Gaidel's Bid" and
RACE 8 - "Princess Jacana".
A routine swab sample was taken from -
RACE 8 - "Willunga Lad - fifth place-getter.
Five horses had pre-race blood samples for post race analysis.
FINES & EXPLANATIONS:
RACE 3 - After weighing out, E. Cassar became ill and was examined by the
Club's Medical Officer and deemed unfit to ride for the remainder of the day. E. Cassar
was notified that prior to riding again, he must produce a Medical Certificate of Fitness.
RACE 3 - Mr. R. Hore-Lacy, trainer of "Rhett", was fined
the sum of $50.00 for the late notification of a rider for the gelding.
RACE 6 - After riding in Race 6, M. Allen was examined by the Club's
Medical Officer and wasdeclared unfit to ride for the remainder of the day. M. Allen was
notified that prior to riding again,he must produce a Medical Certificate of Fitness. |
