Race 1 - Super Vobis Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate
- 1200 Metres:
General's Reward was slow to begin.
On jumping away Paper Counter shifted outwards brushed
Salierum and then became unbalanced, Salierum was then taken out onto Bartorq which
resulted in both those horses being inconvienced Check Again, which was racing on the
outside of Bartorq, was then hampered when tightened for room between that gelding and El
Fox which shifted in.
Near the 800 metres Ruby Lips had to be eased off the heels
of Allo Harry (Miss C. Payne) which shifted in. Miss C. Payne was notified that she must
ensure she is clear of other runners which shifting ground in future.
Rounding the home turn Don't Tell Em shifted out and took
Kingston Spring and Check Again off their course resulting in both these horses being
hampered.
In the straight Kingston Spring had a tendency to lay in
when under pressure.
Over the concluding stages Ruby Lips hung out under
pressure.
Race 2 - Swan Hill June Racing Carnival Maiden
Plate - 1300 Metres:
Near the 800 metres Tilt The Bill, which was over racing,
had to be checked off the heels of Sir Broderick. Shortly after Surf City was severely
hampered and Druid's Peak and Dieu's Place were hampered when Miss Kenny broke down.
Near the 700 metres Tilt The Bill improved up on to the
heels of Sir Broderick and had to be checked.
At the entrance to the straight Juggerly was held up for a
short distance.
Approaching the 200 metres Dieu's Place was disappointed
for a run between Runelle, which shifted out slightly, and Zero Control, which shifted in
slightly under pressure.
After passing the 150 metres Rouge Chaperon had to change
course to improve on the outside of Elegant Stroke.
Race 3 - Murray Downs Resort Maiden Plate -
1000 Metres:
On arrival at the course Grey Valley was examined by the
Club's Veterinary Surgeon who ruled the mare unfit to run due to a mouth injury. Stewards
withdrew Grey Valley at 12 Noon.
Shortly after the start Padre's Mistake which had a
tendency to lay out, clipped the heels of Black Cacique which shifted in slightly.
In the early part of the straight Crazy Angel was held up
for a short distance.
Race 4 - St. Mary's Credit Union Open Handicap -
1600 Metres:
Rounding the home turn Excise laid out and then had to be
checked off the heels of Casual Remark.
Race 5 - Ian Ray Electrics / Retravision Class 4
Handicap - 2100 Metres:
J. Patton, rider of Ultimate Ambition which performed below
expectations explained to Stewards that the gelding was under pressure from the 1000
metres and failed to respond to his riding from that point. Patton further added that in
his opinion Ultimate Ambition felt sore in front. Subsequent to the race the Club's
Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.
Near the 200 metres Doritilla was held up for a short
distance.
Passing the 200 metres Unquote was inconvenienced when
Underground Lover shifted out slightly.
Race 6 - Carlton Draught Class 2 Handicap
- 1300 Metres:
Approaching the 800 metres the saddle on No Charge shifted
forward placing D. Larsson, the mare's rider, at a disadvantage for the remainder of the
race.
Approaching the 200 metres Treasure Island was
inconvenienced due to No Charge being taken out by Give Me Something (V. Duric) which
shifted out. V. Duric was reprimanded and notified that he must ensure he is clear of
other runners when shifting ground in future.
Race 7 - Carlton Draught Class 3 Handicap
- 1000 Metres:
As the gates opened My Kirana was hampered when tightened
for room between Sangiovese and Phin De Vie due to both these horses shifting. Shortly
after this Ashiq clipped the heels of Heartbreak Hotel which was taken in by Sangiovese.
Throughout the race My Kirana hung out.
Near the 200 metres Devonshire shifted out and made contact
with Phin De Vie.
Over the concluding stages of the race Sangiovese was
unable to obtain a clear run.
Miss C. Payne, rider of My Kirana which performed below
expectations, explained to the Stewards that after suffering some interference at the
start, the mare hung out and did not respond to her riding for the remainder of the race.
Subsequent to the race, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.
Subsequent to the race Mrs A. McConnell, trainer of All
Lustre, reported to Stewards that the gelding had been galloped on in the vicinity of the
near hock.
Race 8 - Wolf Blass Class 2 Handicap -
1600 Metres:
No report.

Race 2 - Mr D. Weir, trainer of Zero Control, was fined the
sum of $30 for using wrong colours. |
