Rail: Out 1.5 metres from the 1000 to the 700 metres & 2 metres from the 700 to the 270 metres (Home Turn)

RACE 1 – BOSTON RENT-A-CAR DISTANCE MAIDEN PLATE:

A routine swab sample was taken from BLUE WONDER, winner of the race.

SYNCHRONICITY was inspected by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon shortly after arriving on course and passed fit to start.

GRAND TOURER (C. Tyler) was a late scratching at 1.12 p.m., after the gelding was extremely fractious shortly after the leaving the Mounting Yard and ultimately could not be ridden to the start.

All bets on GRAND TOURER were to be refunded, with no other alteration to betting.

Mr. K. Drewitt, Trainer of GRAND TOURER, was advised the gelding must complete a satisfactory Barrier Trial before being accepted for any future races.

GREY NURSE (C. Lindop) showed a tendency to lay in from the 300 metres until the finish and hampered BILLY’S CHOICE (W. Kerford).

C. Lindop was reminded of her obligations when riding her mounts out to the line.

RACE 2 – KYM CLARKE GENERAL BUILDERS SABIS MAIDEN PLATE:

P. Gatt replaced J. Maund as the rider of QUICK AND LIVELY, due to J. Maund becoming indisposed.

A routine swab sample was taken from ESKAY BOY, winner of the race.

LALA (C. Tyler) and NEAT CHANGE (D. Tootell) were slow to begin.

MARK MY WORD (H. McKechnie) raced greenly throughout.

In the vicinity of the 800 metres WILDS OF VIRGINIA (J. Marks) brushed the running rail and as a result lost some ground.

Subsequent to the race a Veterinary inspection of LALA revealed no visible abnormalities.

RACE 3 – LINCOLN VETERINARY CENTRE HANDICAP:

A routine swab sample was taken from MR. LOGICAL, winner of the race.

A false start was declared after the starting mechanism was accidentally triggered releasing all barrier stalls. All runners were quickly reined in and returned to the barriers where they underwent a Veterinary examination and were declared fit to start.

BILLYLITE (C. Lindop) was slow to begin.

In the vicinity of the 1000 metres STAR OF RUBITON (B. Vale) shifted in slightly and as a result hampered FRONT BEACH (P. Gatt).

Subsequent to the race the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon reported that GRISWALD had returned with an abrasion to the near hind.

RACE 4 – WEST COAST SECURITY CLASS 2 HANDICAP:

A routine swab sample was taken from UNDERCHARGE GIRL, winner of the race.

PURAVALOUR (C. Tyler) reared as the gates were released and as a result lost some ground.

Shortly after the start TRUBRIDGE (J. Lorensini) shifted out; at the same time as CRACKLIN’ JACK (S. Lovegrove) shifted in and as a result UNDERCHARGE GIRL (J. Potter), RUSH OF ANGELS (B. Claridge), AQUA VINO (D. Tootell) and SPARKY’S HOPE (P. Gatt) all came together for a short distance.

In the vicinity of the 1000 metres RUSH OF ANGELS (B. Claridge) shifted in slightly onto ALLAZAM (W. Kerford), which in turn shifted in onto TELL SECRETS (M. Hoppo). As a result, ALLAZAM lost some ground and TELL SECRETS was checked and lost its position. Although found not to be entirely responsible for the incident, B. Claridge was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground.

In the vicinity of the 300 metres AQUA VINO (D. Tootell) shifted in and hampered CRACKLIN’ JACK (S. Lovegrove).

RACE 5 – EYRE AUTO GROUP CLASS 4 HANDICAP:

D. Tootell replaced J. Maund as the rider of TON OF STYLE.

A routine swab sample was taken from the 2nd Placegetter DELLA SALUTE.

Shortly after the start DELLA SALUTE (B. Vale) shifted out; at the same time as SAN QUEEN (H. McKechnie) shifted in. As a result, RANGER SAM (M. Hoppo), THRU THE TRAFFIC (J. Lorensini) and BARMAID (J. Potter), which were between those two horses, brushed together for a short distance

Shortly after the start SPRING DANCE (J. Burgess) shifted in and as a result MADAM MERLOT (B. Claridge) had to be steadied.

RACE 6 – BOSTON BAY WINES HANDICAP:

A routine swab sample was taken from 2nd Placegetter DENHOLM.

TOP CHANCE (W. Kerford) was held up for a clear run between the 400 metres and the home turn.

RACE 7 – CAPITAL CORP SABIS THREE-YEAR-OLD CLASS 2 HANDICAP:

A routine swab sample was taken from ABSCENE, winner of the race.

HILL SEA (D. Tootell) was slow to begin.

LINE OF GOLD (W. Kerford) jumped awkwardly.

Inside the 400 metres OUR COMET (J. Lorensini) shifted out onto SUNESSE (P. Gatt), which in turn shifted out onto COZARVY (H. McKechnie).

Inside the 200 metres COZARVY shifted in sharply after being struck with the whip and dislodged its rider H. McKechnie. In the incident LINE OF GOLD (W. Kerford) and OUR COMET (J. Lorensini) were severely hampered.

H. McKechnie was transported to the Port Lincoln Hospital for observation.

Mr. B. Cozamanis, Trainer of COZARVY, was advised the filly must trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an Official Barrier Trial before being accepted for any future races.
