BILLYS CHOICE (Darren Holland) and
STOPHER (W. Kerford) were both slow to begin.
DIGBURY (P. Gatt) showed a tendency to
over-race in the early stages.
ZETAS (D. Wilson) showed a tendency to race
ungenerously in the early and middle stages before finishing in a distant last position.
Mr. K. Drewitt, Trainer of ZETAS, was
advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding in relation to its poor performance.
RACE 2 PORT LINCOLN FRESH FISH
COMPANY PTY LTD MAIDEN PLATE:
J. Lorensini replaced L. Smith on GOLD RUN,
after L. Smith had become indisposed through illness earlier in the day.
J. OConnor replaced P. Gatt on EYES
OF AN ANGEL, after P. Gatt became indisposed after riding in Race 1.
In the vicinity of the 300 metres RODREGUEZ
(Darren Holland) shifted in and as a result EYES OF AN ANGEL (J. OConnor) had to be
steadied momentarily.
SWAMP RAT (H. McKechnie) showed a tendency
to lay in over the concluding stages, forcing its rider to stop riding and straighten her
mount.
RACE 3 EYRE PENINSULAR OWNERS
& TRAINERS ASSOCIATION C, G & E CLASS 1 HANDICAP:
M. Hoppo replaced M. Neilson as the
rider of HUG A MUG, after M. Neilson failed to arrive on course. Mr. Neilson will be
required to explain to Stewards, at a later date, regarding his non-arrival on course.
Correct Weight was delayed in being
semaphored for this event to allow M. Hoppo, rider of HUG A MUG 2nd
Placegetter, to view the official head-on film. After doing so, in conjunction with
Stewards, Correct Weight was declared.
In the vicinity of the 400 metres RUBICAN
(S. Grivell) had to be steadied from the heels of DANGER CHARGER (D. Tootell).
Inside the 200 metres HUG A MUG (M. Hoppo)
was held up for a clear run for a short distance when racing inside ALLAZAM (Darren
Holland).
RACE 4 HOURGLASS JEWELLERS
DISTANCE CLASS 6 HANDICAP:
J. Lorensini replaced P. Gatt as
the rider of LOCANDO.
A swab sample was taken from LOCANDO,
winner of the race.
BLUE WONDER (D. Tootell) was slow to begin.
UNDERWORLD (W. Kerford) stood flat-footed
at the start and as a result lost some ground.
In the vicinity of the 300 metres BLUE
WONDER (D. Tootell) shifted in and as a result AROUND THE RING (B. Claridge) had to be
steadied.
Over the concluding stages UNDERWORLD (W.
Kerford) shifted in slightly and inconvenienced AROUND THE RING (B. Claridge).
A Veterinary inspection of STAR OF RUBITON,
subsequent to the race, revealed no visible abnormalities.
RACE 5 CLIPSAL CLASS 3
HANDICAP (1st Division):
M. Hoppo replaced M. Neilson as the rider
of KEEP WAITING.
JUST LOVELY (D. Azis) jumped in at the
start and bumped HECTIC (D. Wilson), resulting in that gelding losing some ground.
In the vicinity of the 600 metres LINE OF
GOLD (S. Price), which had been hanging out, shifted in slightly onto PERSIAN PERIL
(Darren Holland), which in turn shifted in onto DONTAINE (J. OConnor), resulting in
that gelding having to be checked and lose some ground.
JUST LOVELY (D. Azis), which was racing
inside DONTAINE (J. OConnor) was also hampered in the incident.
In the vicinity of the 200 metres JUST
LOVELY (D. Azis) became unbalanced and as a result shifted out onto ZOOMERATOR (B. Vale),
resulting in that gelding being taken out onto the heels of PERSIAN PERIL (Darren
Holland). D. Azis explained that at that point he had lost the use of his off side iron
for a short distance, resulting in JUST LOVELY becoming unbalanced.
RACE 6 PORT LINCOLN TIMES
CLASS 3 HANDICAP (2nd Division):
Darren Holland replaced P. Gatt as the
rider of TOVA.
B. Vale replaced L. Smith as the rider of
MOTTO.
A swab sample was taken from CASH LOAN,
winner of the race.
DONOOKTA (W. Kerford) and HABEBAI (D.
Wilson) were slow to begin.
PURAVALOUR (J. OConnor) showed a
tendency to race ungenerously in the early and middle stages.
SOCIAL ECHO (D. Tootell) showed a tendency
to lay in over the concluding stages.
RACE 7 AIR CHARTER AUSTRALIA
PTY LTD FLYING HANDICAP:
C. Buchiw replaced M. Neilson as the rider
of RICH THEME.
C. Lindop replaced P. Gatt as the rider of
TOP CHANCE.
LORD DIVA (D. Tootell) jumped awkwardly and
as a result lost some ground.
In the vicinity of the 1000 metres PRINCE
LLAROO (S. Price) shifted in and as a result CHELSEAS DREAM (J. OConnor) had
to be steadied. Shortly after CHELSEAS DREAM raced ungenerously for a short
distance.
GRISWALD (Darren Holland) was held up for a
clear run over the concluding stages.
Subsequent to the race the Clubs
Veterinary Surgeon reported that SUNBURY had suffered a laceration above the near side
eye. First Aid was administered.
RACE 8 SWETTENHAM STUD/SABIS
FILLIES & MARES CLASS 1 HANDICAP:
B. Vale replaced L. Smith as the rider of
BROOKSIDE BELLE.
W. Kerford replaced P. Gatt as the rider of
MISS PUBLICITY.
ROYAL PLUSH was a late scratching at 5.02
p.m. by the Stewards, acting on Veterinary advice, after the mare had become very
fractious in the Mounting Yard and eventually injuring an off side fore leg.
Stewards ruled that all monies wagered on
ROYAL PLUSH be refunded. Bets made prior to the withdrawal were to be paid on the face
value of the ticket less:
Bets for a WIN - 4cents in the dollar from the face value of the ticket, and
Bets for a PLACE - 5 cents in the dollar from the winnings only.
MISS PUBLICITY (W. Kerford) jumped out at
the start; at the same time as CALIFORNIA ROSE (C. Lindop) jumped in. As a result, LUNA
ROSSA (D. Azis) was inconvenienced and CRYANS COLLEEN (Murray Henderson) was badly
checked, resulting in that mare losing considerable ground.
LET HER RIDE (B. Claridge) jumped awkwardly
and shifted in sharply shortly after the start.
Shortly after the start BROOKSIDE BELLE (B.
Vale) shifted in and bumped SILVER MOLLY (D. Wilson).
CALIFORNIA ROSE (C. Lindop) showed a
tendency to race ungenerously in the middle stages.
In the vicinity of the 600 metres BROOKSIDE
BELLE (B. Vale) shifted in onto LUCKY RIPPER (J. Lorensini), which in turn shifted in and
tightened LUNAR ROSSA (D. Azis). As a result, LUNAR ROSSA had to be steadied for a few
strides and CALIFORNIA ROSE (C. Lindop), which was racing behind LUNAR ROSSA, also had to
be steadied.
B. Vale was reprimanded and reminded of his
obligations when shifting ground. |
