RACE 1 - MICHAEL & COREY PROVINCIAL CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1600M

Meteorol was held up for a run in the early part of the straight.

RACE 2 - SPERO FAMILY MAIDEN PLATE 1300M

Trainer J Morish was fined $50 under AR59A for failing to produce document of description for Night Call.

As C Dwyer was unable to make the weight for Back In Style permission was granted for J Morris to be substituted. C Dwyer will be interviewed at a later date.

Back In Style, which jumped awkwardly and was bumped shortly after by Natamgra which shifted out, hung out rounding the first turn and continued to do so until straightening up.

RACE 3 - JOHN & MARIA SPERO MAIDEN PLATE (DIV 2) 900M

Sin Trail shifted out at the start taking Russian Dancer out on to Ettaleo which was taken out resulting in My Joey being checked and losing ground.

Soon after the start the saddle on Interzar slipped resulting in Interzar shifting in abruptly and causing severe crowding to Deranged and Ode To Thee which was taken in further and hampered Ettaleo. P Falvey, the rider of Interzar, was placed at a considerable disadvantage for the remainder of the race.

Near the 100M Ettaleo became unbalanced when hampered by Interzar which shifted in when weakening.

RACE 4 - REED CONSTRUCTION SERVICES - J & M SPERO DEMOLITION MAIDEN PLATE (DIV 1) 900M

Spy's Eclipse was slow to begin.

RACE 5 - THE SPERO GIRLS PROVINCIAL CLASS 3 PLATE 1200M

As C O'Brien was overweight, M Privato was substituted as the rider of Previck. C O'Brien's explanation was accepted.

Blue Suttarb knuckled on jumping.

Approaching the 800M Cups Quest, which was overracing, had to be checked off the heels of Kenny's Pride and as a consequence took Previck wider.

Culture Vulture and Real Dream were held up for clear running in the early part of the straight.

Kenny's Pride was held up for clear running until inside the 100M.

After the race it was reported that Previck had blood in the offside nostril.

RACE 6 - J & M SPERO DEMOLITION OPEN HANDICAP 900M

Oakfield Prince was slow to begin.

Dublace raced in restricted room over the final 50 metres.

RACE 7 - DAKODA & RILEY SPERO CLASS 1 CUP 1300M

As M Scorse (Painter's Brush) was overweight and no other senior rider was available, permission was granted for apprentice M Manktelow to be substituted. M Scorse's explanation was accepted.

Banockburn was a late withdrawal by order of the stewards at 4.53pm. Stewards subsequently ordered that all monies wagered on Banockburn be refunded in full and with regard to betting with bookmakers all successful wagers made prior to 4.53pm to be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket: win and traditional each way, four cents win and five cents place.

Trainer G White will be interviewed relative to this matter at a later date.

Exotikos jumped awkwardly. Painter's Brush, which had a tendency to overrace, had to be steadied off the heels of General Romeo near the 900M.

Planet Earth (N Stanley) shifted out rounding the home turn taking Painter's Brush out on to Mr James which became momentarily unbalanced. N Stanley was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground to improve.

Approaching the 200M General Romeo was briefly crowded for room by Exotikos, which was inclined to shift in under pressure, and Northern Rule, which was inclined to lay out.

Approaching the 100M Twilight Years was momentarily steadied from the heels of Planet Earth, which laid in under pressure.

RACE 8 - J & M SPERO EARTHMOVING CONTRACTORS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 900M

As M Scorse (Miss Romance) was overweight, J Morris was substituted.

As C O'Brien (Gold Banker) was overweight and no other senior rider was available, permission was granted for apprentice T Muto to be substituted.

Gold Banker, which was slow to begin, was bumped heavily by Smokey Topaz which shifted in abruptly on jumping.

Gold Banker and Mythical Bid hung out making the home turn.

Touch The Plate was held up for clear running in the early part of the straight.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of Celestial Cheer, which raced wide throughout, A W Robinson said the mare failed to respond to his riding in the straight and in his opinion was a beaten horse on straightening.

A post race veterinary examination of Celestial Cheer did not reveal any abnormality.
