Race 1 – Nu Peninsula Dry Cleaners Maiden Plate 1000m

Prior to being boxed, Chad Lever, rider of "Kayano" was struck on his head by his mount. Chad Lever was examined by the ambulance officer and passed fit to ride. This resulted in the race being delayed.

The race was further delayed due to "A Sensation" being unruly after being boxed.

On jumping away "A Sensation" and "Helsinki" came together.

Near the 800 metres "Helsinki", when over-racing, shifted out over the heels of "Jugah Shar".

Due to a misunderstanding Lonagan Milham was declared as the rider of "Kayano" and "Space Talk". The Stewards permitted Chad Lever to be the substitute rider for "Kayano".

Race 2 – Mornington Garden Supplies Maiden Plate 1500m

After being placed in its starting stall "Spider Henry" became restless and reared. A veterinary examination of the gelding passed it fit to run. "Spider Henry" when being reboxed proved difficult to load, which resulted in the race being delayed. Mr Jim Houlahan, trainer of "Spider Henry", was notified that a repetition of the gelding’s behaviour may lead to some action being taken against it and he must be in receipt of a barrier test certificate prior to racing again.

"Kumon" was slow to begin.

Race 3 – Progress Signs Class 3 Handicap 1500m

Passing the 400 metres "Kakhiashvili" and "Rainbow Melody" raced tight for some distance on the inside of "Perignon".

Race 4 – Carlton Draught Super VOBIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate 1200m

On jumping away "You Little Beaut" shifted in and brushed "Hector’s Hope" and then knuckled.

Shortly afterwards "Light Squall" shifted in and inconvenienced "Hector’s Hope".

Approaching the 800 metres "Orthopaedic" had to be checked when tightened for room by "Royal Thong", which was racing tight on the inside of "Our Gigolo (NZ)".

Race 5 – Steffano Menswear Class 4 Handicap 1200m

Chad Lever, rider of "Archie’s Girl" (third placegetter) and Matthew Allen, rider of "Heist" (fourth placegetter) both requested to view the Stewards’ patrol view in respect to lodging objections. After viewing the official films both riders did not wish to proceed and correct weight was semaphored.

Shortly after straightening "Hawaiian Call" was disappointed for a run between "Archie’s Girl" and "Heist", which shifted in slightly.

Near the 100 metres "Hawaiian Call" was again disappointed for a run between "Archie’s Girl" and "Great Relief", which shifted out slightly.

Just prior to the winning post "Heist" and "Archie’s Girl" came together.

Race 6 – Fulmen Park Pre-Training Class 1 Handicap 2000m

In the early stages of the race "Ovation", when being restrained, got its head up. In the middle stages of the race "Ovation" hung out. Approaching the winning post "Devil’s Choice" had to be eased off the heels of "Renoic".

Race 7 – Robert Roulston Bloodstock Class 2 Handicap 1200m

"Smooth Rancho" was slow to begin.

Prior to correct weight, Stewards viewed the Stewards’ patrol film in respect of "Smooth Rancho", as to whether it had been denied a fair start. After viewing the film, Stewards semaphored correct weight.

At the entrance to the straight and again approaching the winning post "Unhurried Days" was held up when unable to obtain a clear run on the inside of "Rancho Caught".

Race 8 – Arctic Rhythm Class 1 Handicap 1500m

Acting on a report from the starter that "Cardash" was unable to be boxed the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 5.25pm. Subsequently the Stewards ordered all monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on "Cardash" to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal of "Cardash" are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: Win bets 6 cents; Place bets 7 cents; Winning concession bets 6 cents; Double bets 6 cents. All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.

Mrs Brenda Stewart, trainer of "Cardash", was notified that a repetition of the gelding’s behaviour may lead to some action being taken against it and prior to it starting again she must be in receipt of barrier test certificate.

When the gates open for the start of the race "Lockyer Lad" stood flat footed and lost considerable ground. As Mr Fred Pratt, trainer of the gelding, had left the course Stewards will notify him that prior to "Lockyer Lad" starting again he must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards in a trial.

 Shortly after straightening "Nashor" was tightened for room by "Bridlecan", which shifted in.

After passing the 100 metres, "Dream Believer" and "Nashor" were tightened for room by "Bridlecan" (Miss Tennille Gray) which shifted in under pressure. Miss Tennille Gray was reprimanded and notified that she must make a greater effort to keep her mounts straight in future.
