Race 2 - Reginald C. Power Memorial Novice Steeplechase 3300m

After jumping the first fence through the centre of the course, the second time around, "Ponrabbel" landed awkwardly and dislodged its rider, R.Kirkpatrick. Rounding the home turn "Dankworth" had to be eased off the heels of "Sir View (NZ)" which shifted in slightly.

Race 3 - Open Trophy Race Handicap 1200m

Rounding the home turn, "Special D'Or" brushed the running rail and became unbalanced when racing tight on the inside of "Regal Mission".

Race 4 - George Watson Steeplechase 3300m

R.Kirkpatrick was examined by the clubs doctor and passed fit to ride. An enquiry was adjourned into the reason for P.Kelly, rider of "Gold Deputy" being dislodged prior to the fourth fence. After leaving the straight the first time, "Big Zap" accidentally clipped the heels of "Tawbalt".

Race 5 - Open Trophy Race Handicap 1500m

As there was no other suitable rider available, stewards permitted A.Bodey, rider of "Kid Billy" to ride 2kg overweight. Shortly after the start, "Gargery" clipped the heels of "Prince Agent" which shifted in abruptly.

Race 6 - Norman Wood Memorial Steeplechase 3300m

In the early and middle stages of the race, the saddle of "Bonhomme De Neige" shifted forward, placing the geldings' rider, R.Kirkpatrick, at a disadvantage.
