Race 1 - Chris Lieshout Motors Maiden Plate - 1200 metres

At the barrier "Ski Magic" which had been kicked by another runner was examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon and passed fit to run.

Shortly after the start "Rosilo" had to be eased when tightened for room between "Rare Indeed" which shifted out slightly and "Interactive" which shifted in away from "Djorkaeff".

Near the 700 metres "Rare Indeed" shifted in abruptly.

Race 2 - Rapidvite Super Vobis Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate - 1100 metres

After being placed in its stall "Sequalo's Belle" reared and dislodged its rider Jade Darose. Jade Darose was attended to by ambulance officers and passed fit to ride. As a result of this the start of the race was delayed.

Approaching the 800 metres "Rose BonBon" got its head up when being eased off the heels of "Mon Titian Bay" which shifted in. "Venturess" which was following was hampered in consequence.

After passing the 700 metres "Venturess" which was racing ungenerously shifted out resulting in "Ante" being tightened out onto the hind quarters of "Zeg Star" turning that gelding inwards.

After passing the 100 metres "Mon Titian Bay" had to be eased to avoid the heels of "Pramila" which was taken in slightly by "Sindicato". Over the concluding stages "Pramila" had to change course to avoid the heels of "Sindicato" which again shifted in

Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Mr P Gelegotis trainer of Patty's Choice who stated that subsequent to scratching time this morning that the filly was sore behind and therefore unfit to run Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Patty's Choice at 10.20am. Mr Gelegotis assured the Stewards that he would submit a Veterinary Certificate in respect of Patty's Choice.

Race 3 - Parkinson Wholesale Foods Gippsland Grand National Hurdle - 2875 metres

B. Constable rider of "Mr Lightfoot" the fourth place getter was found guilty of a charge of failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race which in the opinion of the Stewards cost "Mr. Lightfoot" third place. B. Constable was fined the sum of $500.

Race 4 - Carlton Draught / Thoroubred Breeders Victoria Red Ruby Series Heat - 1100 metres

Subsequent to this race Stewards altered the track category from Heavy to Slow at 1.53p.m.

At the barrier "Moon Cloud" had to be replated.

After being placed in its stall "Licata" reared and became cast. As a result G. Eades the filly's rider was dislodged and as he had injured himself was unable to take his mount. So as to avoid any unnecessary delay Stewards ordered the withdrawal of "Licata" at 1.42 p.m. Subsequent to the race Stewards ordered the following betting deductions.
All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on "Licata" to be refunded.
All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal of "Licata" are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:
Win Bets: 16 cents - Place Bets: 14 cents - Winning Concession Bets: 16 cents - Double Bets: 16 cents.
All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.

Acting on a report from the Starter that "Licata" had proved difficult to load and had reared dislodging its rider, Stewards notified Mr Tim McSweeney who was representing Mr Lee Freedman trainer of the filly that an official warning would be placed on "Licata". Mr McSweeney was further notified that prior to the filly racing again a barrier certificate must be produced with respect to "Licata".

Race 5 - The LV Printers 3YO Class 1 Handicap - 1600 metres

Approaching the 400 metres "Chiming Mill" had to be eased when tightened for room by "Acela" which shifted in slightly.

Race 6 - Latrobe Valley Cup - 1600 metres

Near the 1400 metres "Moruya Bay" had to be eased when tightened for room between "How Big" which shifted out slightly and "Another Neptune" which shifted in slightly.

Race 7 - Tom Weeks Memorial Class 1 Handicap - 2050 metres

When the gates opened "Angel's Gem" jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

Race 8 - Edison Mission Energy Class 4 Handicap - 1200 metres

After passing the 200 metres "Ruling Eyes" was disappointed for a run and had to be eased off the heels of "Mr. Printz" when that horse shifted out.

Race 9 - Ten Victoria Class 2 Handicap - 1600 metres

No report.

SWAB SAMPLES

Routine swab samples were taken from the following winners:

Race 5 - "Landdrost"
Race 6 - "Firestarter (NZ)"

Five horses were pre race tested for post race analysis.

Race 8 - Mr C Brown trainer of "Uncle Gwydir" was fined the sum of $50 for his late notification of rider.
