Race 2 - PAKENHAM SUPER VOBIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres:

The Stewards accepted the explanation offered by jockeys Ms S Wynne and M Goring regarding their failure to produce medical certificates of fitness. When the gates opened, Wagemaker was slow to begin.

Race 3 - RACERS TABARET MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres:

When the gates opened, Learmonth (NZ) jumped away awkwardly, shifted out, and bumped Red Diversion.

Also, when the gates opened, Halo Ran shifted out and brushed Djorkaeff. Shortly after this, Halo Ran had to be checked when tightened for room between Salvage and Djorkaeff, which, when having a tendency to lay in, then shifted in tightly.

Near the 700 metres, Polish Dream had to be eased off the heels of Salvage, which was taken in by Halo Ran who, in turn, shifted in to avoid the heels of Djorkaeff, which continued to lay in.

Mr J Shepherd, trainer of Djorkaeff, which hung out badly, was notified that the gelding was now suspended from racing for a period until it performs to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an organised trial.

Prior to correct weight, Ms S Wynne, rider of Pugmoss, fourth place-getter, wished to view the Stewards' patrol and TV versions of the straight before deciding whether to lodge an objection. After viewing the films, Ms S Wynne decided not to proceed with an objection, and correct weight was declared.

Race 7 - WORKSAFE VICTORIA HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

On arrival at the barrier, Boortkoi Phantom was inspected by the Club's veterinary surgeon and declared unfit to run.
