Race 1 - SV 3YO Maiden Plate - 2000m -

Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight Pompous Lad was held up for a run.

Near the 200 metres Pompous Lad shifted out and made contact with Mar's Luck.

Race 2 - Paddle Wheel Motel F & M Maiden Plate - 1100m -

Raamesa was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start Grey Valley, which had jumped away awkwardly, was then taken out on to the hind quarters of Blushing Marne by Blue Jewel, who had been taken out by Panaqua and Radioactive Star.

Approaching the 100 metres Rosemonde was eased to avoid the heels of Miss Congeniality, which shifted out.

Race 3 - Hanging Rock Maiden Plate - 1850m -

After being placed in the starting stall Pudjib reared and became cast. Acting on a report from the Club Veterinary Surgeon who stated that the gelding was unfit to start, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Pudjib at 1.35 p.m. Subsequent to the race the Stewards ordered the following alteration to betting - All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on Pudjib to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to the time of withdrawal of Pudjib are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of ticket - Win Bets - 7 cents, Place Bets - 8 cents, Winning Concession Bets - 7 cents, Doubles Bets - 7 cents. All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.

Approaching the finishing post the first time Mouse King was tightened for room between Coral Key, which was taken out slightly by Tahitian Crown, and Brave Raami which shifted in away from King Filou, which was shifting in.

Turning out of the straight the first time Mouse King, which was over-racing, had to be severely checked to avoid the heels of Mrs. Humphrey.

Race 4 - Australia Day Class 1 Handicap - 1200m -

No report.

Race 5 - Tooheys New Class 5 Handicap - 1200m -

Approaching the 900 metres Royal Jugah was tightened for room between Half Each (N. Callow) which shifted in and Questwin which shifted in slightly. N. Callow was notified to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

Rounding the home turn Half Each shifted in and brushed the rail, which resulted in that gelding becoming unbalanced.

Rounding the home turn and in the straight Cici Stad was disappointed for a clear run.

Passing the 200 metres Cici Stad was checked when tightened for room between Etta Place (G. Eades) and Royal Jugah, which both shifted ground. G. Eades was notified to exercise care when shifting ground in future.

Race 6 - Campaspe Room Class 2 Handicap - 1850m -

After being placed in the starting stall Indecorous became fractious and temporarily cast. Indecorous was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to run.

Passing the 100 metres L. Dowson rider of Our Banjo accidentally dropped his whip.

Approaching the finishing line River Of Kingston was eased when tightened for room between Keeping Promises and Edge Of Perfection, which both shifted ground.

Race 7 - Macedon Ranges Class 3 Handicap - 1450m -

Near the 1000 metres Beccorino, when being restrained, was tightened for room between Force Of Vain and Paris Rock, which when over-racing, shifted in to avoid the heels of Foxy Brown, which then also shifted in slightly.

Near the 800 metres Paris Rock, when pulling, was checked to avoid the heels of Foxy Brown.

Race 8 - Steam Rail Victoria Class 1 Handicap - 1450m -

Passing the 1000 metres Longmire hung in towards the running rail and became unbalanced.

Swab samples were taken from the following winners - Go Tilla (Race 2), Tahitian Crown (Race 3), I'm Honour Roll (Race 4), Edge Of Perfection (Race 6), Dane River (Race 7)

FINES -

Andrew Payne trainer of Deux Mille (Race 4) was fined $50 for presenting the mare in the mounting yard without blinkers when Deux Mille was a blinkered horse.
