GENERAL

J. Morris was fined $100 for being present in the betting ring (AR 83 (c))

RACE 1: Rose Todner Hcp 3yo Maiden (Div 1) 1400m

After being boxed on two occasions, Managed Fund reared and dislodged its rider. The gelding was examined and passed fit to start. A warning was placed on the barrier manners of the gelding.

Heysan was slow to begin.

Approaching the first turn Managed Fund was steadied when tightened for room by Canny Kisser, which was taken in by Shona Princess (M. Squires), which shifted in when not clear. M. Squires was advised to exercise more care.

In the early part of the straight Heysan hung in under pressure.

A post-race veterinary examination of Tilbury revealed the gelding to be displaying respiratory distress.

RACE 2: Krystal Summerfield Hcp 3yo Maiden (Div 2) 1400m

Seattle Glory was slow to begin.

Gilded Armour began awkwardly.

When the pace steadied passing the 800m, Mediterranean, Marrisk and Gilded Armour were checked.

RACE 3: ITC Function Centre Plate Provincial Class 1 & Maiden 2000m

In the middle stages Ballyview pulled hard.

RACE 4: 2500 Dollar Lucky Badge Draw Hcp Fillies & Mares Maiden 1200m

Dezhilla was slow to begin.

Mardi's Classic began awkwardly, shifted out and hampered Trendsetting.

Near the 700m Mardi's Classic was steadied when tightened for room by Trendsetting which was laying in.

Chu Chu hung out in the straight and proved difficult to ride.

A post-race veterinary examination of Chu Chu did not reveal any obvious abnormality.

Passing the 200m Movement, after initially being bumped by Friday Sweets became unbalanced, shifted in and was checked across the heels of Way Of The Dragon which was taken out slightly by Dezhilla.

A post-race veterinary examination of Cloudbird did not reveal any obvious abnormality.

M. Butler, rider of 5th place getter Miss Maurocco, was reminded of his obligations to ensure that he rides all his mounts out at least hands and heels right to the winning post whenever possible.

RACE 5: Class 1 Handicap 1400m

On jumping Play Back was checked when crowded for room by Clareville Babe and King O' The Rings, both of which shifted ground.

Passing the 200m Play Back was steadied when tightened by Superfine which shifted in away from Celtic Mate.

J. Grisedale (King O' The Rings) explained that approaching the home turn he elected to improve to the inside of Superfine and in so doing save ground. He said, however, that in the straight King O' The Rings was reluctant to improve when racing to the inside of other runners.

RACE 6: Tory Toyota Plate Provincial Class 3 1200m

Classic Doll jumped awkwardly, shifted out and hampered Claytons.

Passing the 800m when the pace steadied, Real Sassy steadied and shifted out off the heels of Big Bal Bowski and in so doing resulted in Dr. Fagan being checked across the heels of Nabob.

A post-race veterinary examination of Claytons, which performed disappointingly, revealed the gelding to be displaying poor post-race recovery.

RACE 7: Tooheys Hcp Maiden 1600m

(A) M. Howarth was fined $150 for failing to claim down to his declared riding weight. In the circumstances permission was granted for (A) M. Howarth to fulfil his engagement on Just Stella.

Princess Adelaide and Sapphire Prince over-raced in the early stages.

J. Innes (Le Major) was fined $100 for use of the whip on the gelding, which was out of contention.

RACE 8: 2KY Racing Radio Hcp Open 1200m

Approaching the home turn Tywin (C. Agnew) shifted in resulting in Imposing Waltz contacting the hind quarters of Prince Of Sports (R. Thompson), which resulted in that horse being turned out.

A short distance later Prince Of Sports shifted out further, resulting in Imposing Waltz being steadied. C. Agnew and R. Thompson were advised to exercise more care.

RACE 9: Aimer Racing Weekly Hcp Entires & Geldings Maiden 1200m

All About Class, Sir Kaingaroa and Northern Spy were slow to begin.

In the straight Sir Kaingaroa raced greenly as it was inclined to shift out when placed under pressure.
