When questioned regarding the improved performance of the
winner Terrific Taurus, trainer Diane Poidevin-Laine stated that the gelding had pleased
her in its track work following its last start on 15 January, when it was unplaced at
Nowra. She further stated that Terrific Taurus had struck interference in previous starts
and today with early speed in the race, the small field and being able to work out to the
outside of runners was to the gelding's advantage. Mrs Poidevin-Laine was advised that now
that Terrific Taurus had now established some form the gelding would be expected to
maintain consistency.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of
Broc 'N' Arrow, rider M. Newnham stated that in his opinion the colt did not handle the

struck the left hand barrier partition in the vicinity of the head. Stewards directed the

filly, which established Courting had bled from the lungs. Mr C. Davies was advised the
filly would incur the mandatory three month bar from racing (AR53A).
