Race 1 - SUNBURY DAIRY CLASS 3 HANDICAP
- 1600 metres:
Passing the 1200 metres "Indecorous" had to be
eased off the heels of "Our Banjo", which was laying out.
Race 2 - TOOHEY'S NEW SUPER VOBIS
THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres:
Racing into the turn at the 600 metres "Feisty
Lass", which was hanging out, made the turn awkwardly, and lost some ground.
Race 3 - CHINKA STEEL CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1000
metres:
A. Masters was notified as the rider of "Saintly
Pride" when, in fact, he had a previous engagement for "Westbrook Miss"
(NZ)".
Acting on a report from the Starter that "Westbrook
Miss (NZ)" had been difficult to place in the barrier stalls, and had held up the
start of the race, the Stewards notified Mr. Tony Waddell, trainer of the mare, that
"Westbrook Miss (NZ)" was now suspended from racing until such time as it trials
to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an organised trial, at which time he must obtain a
barrier test certificate for it.
Passing the 600 metres "Born on a Rock" had a
tendency to lay in.
Over the concluding stages of the race "Born on a
Rock" was inconvenienced when racing tight between "Comtrice" and
"Pretty Gaze".
Race 4 - MACEDON LODGE HANGING ROCK GOLD CUP -
1800 metres:
After passing the 600 metres, "Tonvenor"
had to be eased out over the heels of "Zazzman" (G. Eades), which shifted in
slightly. G. Eades was advised to give his fellow riders more room in future.
Race 5 - HANGING ROCK WINERY Maiden Plate -
1800 metres:
When the gates opened "Pudjib" was hampered when
"Mr. Zadopek" jumped away awkwardly, and shifted out.
Shortly after "Channon Grove" shifted out and
hampered "Mr. Zadopek".
Racing to the 1200 metres "Mouse King", which was
over-racing, had to be eased off the heels of "Slanderous".
Over the concluding stages of the race "Channon
Grove" and "Mowgreen brushed when both those horses shifted ground.
Race 6 - MOLMIC FURNITURE CLASS 2 HANDICAP -
1400 metres:
After taking evidence from W. Hokai regarding the handling
of "Regent's Rocket" during the race, the Stewards adjourned an inquiry to a
date to be fixed.
SWAB SAMPLES were taken from
"Comtrice", the winner of the Chinka Steel Class 1 Handicap - Race 3, and from
"Tovenor", the winner of the Macedon Lodge Hanging Rock Gold Cup - Race 4.
