Race 1 - Echuca Betta Electrical SV 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate (Div 1). 1200m

Passing the 200m Kaarla was hampered when tightened for room between Flame Star which shifted in and Soviet Lights which shifted out away from Red Cayenne.

In the straight Flame Star had a tendency to lay in under pressure

Race 2 - Deniliquin R.S.L SV 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate (Div 2) 1200m.

No Curfew jumped away awkwardly and then threw it's head up shortly after the start and lost ground.

Near the 600m Rapid Century had to be eased when tightened for room between Don't Tell Em and Grand Tale which shifted out.

Shortly after straightening Grand Tale (P Michaelides) shifted in and made contact with Rapid Century on a number of occasions. Grand Tale then shifted out abruptly approaching the 100m and hampered Try The Price. P Michaelides was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when not clear of other runners.

Race 3 -Beechworth Bakery Echuca SV 3YO C & G Maiden Plate 1200m

Shortly after the start Aspiring Place and Flashing Pride were hampered when tightened for room between As D'Or and Heroic Chief which was taken in by Arches.

Near the 500m Flashing Pride had to be eased when tightened for room between Lord Erin and Fonome which shifted in slightly away from Silver Birch.

Race 4 - Harvest Hotel Echuca Class 2 Handicap 1000m.

On jumping away Baile Brigin knuckled and almost fell.

Prior to correct weight Miss M Payne rider of Magic Murdoch third place getter viewed the stewards patrol video before deciding not to lodge an objection.

Race 5 -Riverside Meats Class 1 Handicap. 1200m.

Near the 200m Financial Heights was eased when racing tight between Will Jazz and Rockaway which shifted out slightly.

Approaching the winning post Rancho Pearl which was laying out, shifted out and inconvienced Lawskin

Subsequent to the race the clubs Veterinary Surgeon reported that Reverenda which was eased down by it's rider J Winks in the straight, was lame in the near foreleg. Mr. G Dalziel trainer of Reverenda was notified that he must produce a Veterinary clearance in respect of the gelding prior to it racing again.

Race 6 -Deniliquin R.S.L Class 5 Handicap. 1400m.

Acting on a report from the starter that Bay Scenery was unable to be loaded into the barriers the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Bay Scenery at 3.28pm. The following Stewards orders in relation to betting were made All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on Bay Scenery to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal of Bay Scenery are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket; win bets 4c; place bets 5c; winning concession bets 4c; doubles bets 4c. All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of the ticket.

Subsequent to the race Mr J Coombs who was representing Mr G Egan trainer of Bay Scenery was notified that Bay Scenery was suspended from racing until such time it performs to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an Organised Trial and obtains a barrier test certificate in such trial.

Approaching the 1000m Shanassi (NZ) was pulled up by J Anstice, rider of the mare. The Clubs Veterinary Surgeon reported that Shanassi (NZ) was lame in the near foreleg. The Stewards notified Mr J Coombs who was representing Mr G Egan trainer of Shanassi (NZ) that he must produce a Veterinary clearance in respect of the mare prior to it racing again.

Near the 200m Comet Jet had to be eased off the heels of Star Bidder (NZ)

Race 7 -Slickpix Photography F & M Class 3 Handicap. 1200m.

Near the 700m Rich Ruby Red knuckled.

Approaching the 200m Adri Marie had to be checked to avoid the heels of Rich Ruby Red (Ms M Payne) which when laying in, shifted in. Shortly after this Pure Elegance had to be checked to avoid the heels of Rich Ruby Red which continued to shift in. Although accepting that Rich Ruby Red was laying in, the Stewards severely reprimanded Ms M Payne and notified that she must do her utmost to protect her fellow riders in future.

Race 8 -Carnival On The Murray Class 1 Handicap. 2100m.

When the pace slackened rounding the turn out of the straight Spectacular Storm and Humra had to be checked off the heels of other runners.

Near the 1200m Starwicki and Inala Lass came together on a number of occasions due to Starwicki initially shifting out slightly and then Inala Lass shifting in. Passing the 1000m Starwicki had to be eased to avoid the heels of Inala Lass (M Pumpa) which shifted in. M Pumpa was notified to exercise more care in future.

Race 9- Tooheys New Maiden Plate. 1600m

An objection was lodged by M Pegus rider of Yumali second place getter against Ruxette being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference from the 250m to the winning post. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the stewards patrol video, the Stewards dismissed the objection. It was established that approaching the 200m Ruxette shifted in and brushed Yumali. Ruxette then raced tight on the outside of Yumali until near the 50m when Yumali then shifted out and brushed Ruxette.

On jumping away Braemore shifted out and hampered Pagano.

Near the 1200m Tango's Dream shifted out and inconvienced Pagano (NZ), Zaravitch and Brown Eagle.

Fines And Explanations.

Race 1 - Mr R W Smerdon, trainer of Chelsea's Millions was fined $50 for his late notification of R Aitken as the rider of the filly.

Race 3 - Mr J D Pearson, trainer of Flashing Pride was fined $100 for failing to produce the Document Of Description for the gelding which was having it's first race start today.

Race 6 - Mr K Bourke, trainer of Star Bidder (NZ) was fined $30 for using wrong colours on the gelding.

Race 8 - Mr A Coffey, trainer of Inala Lass was fined $30 for using wrong colours on the mare.

Race 9 - Mr D Lawson, trainer of Stealth Knight was fined $50 for his late notification of C Quilty as the rider of the gelding.
