When the gates opened CABIN was slow into
stride.
Stewards questioned T Gillett, rider of
DELIRIUM which performed below expectations. T Gillett stated that DELERIUM performed like
a tired horse and was likely to be spelled.
The Clubs Veterinary surgeon
inspected JULIGHT subsequent to the event and reported that the mare was in season.

$30-00 for presenting that gelding in the mounting yard without blinkers (AR140A).

As there was no other available rider,
stewards gave permission to G Clarke to ride STEVO at 1.5kg above the declared riding
weight.
Rider of AGILE LAD, G Browder was fined $20
for riding in the incorrect colours.
Rider of SHODIYM, T Gillett reported to
stewards that the gelding had stepped back in the barriers and then reared as the start
was effected. After hunting SHODIYM up to the other runners SHODIYM appeared to resent the
dirt coming back in his face and began to lose his place in the field. T Gillett then took
SHODIYM wide in an effort to get the gelding moving forward. Stewards accepted his
explanation of the event.

At the start, SLY SLATE (NZ) came out onto
MEASURE OF LUCK, which was slow away. NATURES HIDEAWAY also jumped out onto LA BON
TON (NZ) taking that mare into BEAU MASTER.
MEASURE OF LUCK lost a plate at the 650
metres and began to pull up abruptly at the 550 metres causing inconvenience to PRINCELY
MILL which was travelling behind. The Clubs Veterinary surgeon inspected MEASURE OF
LUCK subsequent to the event and reported that the mare suffered an injury to the tendon.
