When the gates opened HOKAIDO was slow away
and JOVIAL TRYST was slow into stride.
Racing past the 800 metres DELIRIUM had a
tendency to lay out onto the heels of RED CENTRE RACER. Near the 650 metres RED CENTRE
RACER had to be eased over the heels of HASTY RHYTHM (S Brownbill (a)) which shifted in.
As a result DELIRIUM, which was following, had to be eased. S Brownbill (a) was
reprimanded and notified that in future he must ensure he is 2 lengths clear of other
runners prior to shifting ground.
In the straight RED CENTRE RACER had a
tendency to lay in behind HASTY RHYTHM which prevented D Bates riding RED CENTRE RACER out
to the best of his ability.

When the gates opened RODIN was slow into
stride.
When rounding the turn from the 650 metres
to the home turn RODIN raced wide. Apprentice S Brownbill reported that the gelding was
wanting to hang out. RODIN was inspected by the Clubs Veterinary Surgeon who
reported that the gelding was slightly distressed and showing signs of dehydration.

On the home turn BENGAL FLASH had to be
eased off the heels of KALASHOW, which rolled out.

being called away, races were rescheduled to start at;

When the gates opened both CITYKAT and ROAD
TO CAIRO threw their heads in the air.

J Hallam (a), rider of DRAGON STAR notified
the Stewards that the gelding raced greenly during the race.
On jumping away CLASSIC ROSE was tightened
for room and hampered between DRAGON STAR and WHY NOT which shifted in.

Near the 500 metres WICKED LOVE was held up
for a clear run behind JAYASHARI.
Near the 400 metres ADIAN WAY had to be
eased off the heels of JAYASHARI which shifted in abruptly.
Subsequent to the event the Clubs
Veterinary Surgeon inspected JAYASHARI, which performed poorly. He reported that the filly
had a laceration below its eye, which bled during the race, and as a result it had
blood in its eye, mouth and nostrils. He further stated that he believed that the blood in
its eye, mouth and nostril could have effected its performance.
Stewards questioned D Bates, rider of
JAYASHARI, about the laceration to its eye. D Bates stated that the filly struck its head
in the gates and that prior to jumping away there was no sign of any blood.
