RACE TWO CLASS 1 HCP 11OO M
As GOLDEN SUPREMACY was lame in the off
foreleg and unfit to start, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of GOLDEN SUPREMACY at 1.53pm.
As M Osmond was ill and unable to ride,
Stewards permitted S Simon to replace him as the rider of ALKOOMI (NZ).
Near the 600 metres CHECK OR BET, which was
improving, was taken out by ADIAN WAY which hung out on the corner. As a result CHECK OR
BET had to be checked and was taken out and bumped ALKOOMI (NZ) on the hindquarters. This
turned ALKOOMI (NZ) inwards and hampered that mare severely.
S Simon, rider of ALMOOMI (NZ) was found
guilty of a charge of careless riding, the careless riding being that after passing the
1000 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of CHECK OR BET
which resulted in CHECK OR BET having to be checked. S Simon was suspended from riding in
races for a period to expire at midnight on Saturday 8th December, 2001.
