RACE ONE MAIDEN HCP – 11OO M

On jumping away CENTRE MUSIC jumped inwards and bumped CENTRESTAD. Shortly after the start PENTECOST shied outwards and made contact with CENTRESTAD.

In the straight MYTH had a tendency to lay in which prevented it’s rider J Hallam (a) from riding the gelding out in his normal manner.

Apprentice J Hallam was unable to ride MYTH at his MRW. As there were no other apprentices available and as the trainer of MYTH Ms L Williams was prepared to allow J Hallam to ride at 54kgs, stewards permitted him to fulfill his engagement. J Hallam was fined $100 for failing to ride at his declared MRW (NT91(c)).

Mr K Lamprecht, trainer of CENTRE MUSIC was fined $20 for using Club colours on that filly.

1st STRATEGIC HIT 2nd MYTH 3rd PENTECOST

RACE TWO CLASS 2 HCP – 12OO M

Shortly after the start OVERSLADE LANE shifted out and bumped ACELA.

Near the 650 metres OVERSLADE LANE, which was racing ungenerously, had to be eased when tightened for room between TIBER and ACELA. Rounding the turn OVERSLADE LANE raced greenly.

As S Brownbill (a) was unable to ride SOLTRICE at his declared MRW, stewards permitted B Dieckmann (a) to replace him as the rider of that mare. S Brownbill was fined $100 for failing to ride at his MRW (NT91(c)).

1st JOVIAL TRYST 2nd AMBER ESSENCE 3rd OVERSLADE LANE

RACE THREE CLASS D HCP – 13OO M

When the gates opened LOCKMASTER jumped away awkwardly and GRANDWAY TREASURE was slow into stride. On jumping away CHEQUE ATTACK shifted out and took MR CARDIN (NZ) out onto ROYAL FIZZ which in turn went out onto MARCITY.

Rounding the turn MR CARDIN (NZ) had a tendency to lay out.

Near the 100 metres SATYR KING shifted out abruptly and bumped GRANDWAY TREASURE.

Over the concluding stages ROYAL FIZZ was held up for a clear run.

Apprentice S Brownbill was unable to ride EL SUROSO at his MRW. As there were no other apprentices available and as the trainer of EL SUROSO Ms L Williams was prepared to allow S Brownbill to ride at 54kgs, stewards permitted him to fulfill his engagement

1st MARCITY 2nd CHEQUE ATTACK 3rd HIT AND HOPE

RACE FOUR CLASS 4 HCP – 9OO M

Rounding the turn KUCITE hung out and on a number of occassions took FINE OPTION out wide. Near the 450 metres when KUCITE shifted out it took FINE OPTION out onto CRESTER.

During the race RIGHT STUFF lost both front plates.

The clubs veterinary surgeon inspected LEURA EXPRESS subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding had blood in it’s off side nostril.

RACE FIVE 3YO FILLIES ROSE BOWL CLASS 6 HCP – 13OO M

Stewards adjourned an inquiry into interference which occurred shortly after the start. Evidence was taken from M Cullen, rider of RACING ACES and J Hallam (a), rider of DEE VEE DEE.

Rounding the turn FLIGHT WAY had a tendency to hang out.

At the entrance to the straight FLIGHT WAY shifted out and bumped GAINSWAY GIRL.

Near the 450 metres JAYASHARI shifted in to obtain a run on the inside of FLIGHT WAY. In doing so JAYASHARI, tightened LATE WARRIOR.

Mr K Lamprecht, trainer of RACING ACES was fined $20 for using club colours on that filly.

Prior to correct weight being declared the connections of 2nd placed horse MOSSE requested to view the official finish image of the race.

1st DEE VEE DEE 2nd MOSSE 3rd JAYASHARI

RACE SIX TOYOTA CUP CLASS 5 HCP – 16OO M

At the entrace to the straight ADIAN WAY and DURCILLA came together due to ADAIAN WAY attempting to shift out to obtain a clear run.

Over the last 200 metres ADIAN WAY was unable to get a clear run which prevented its rider J Hallam (a) from riding the gelding out.

Mr V Oldfield, trainer of LARAPINTA LAD was fined $50for presenting that gelding late in the saddling enclosure (NT128A).

Pre race blood samples were taken from SUPER HENRY (NZ), LARAPINTA LAD and NORTHERN INDIES.

Ms J Robinson, trainer of ADIAN WAY was questioned after the stewards had requested that the club’s veterinary surgeon inspect ADIAN WAY when blood was seen in it’s nostril prior to leaving the mounting yard. When the clubs veterinary surgeon attempted to inspect the gelding some 5 minutes after the finish of the race he reported that the gelding had left the saddling enclosure. Mrs Robinson stated that she was upset by the events which occurred during the race and after leaving the mounting yard took ADIAN WAY straight back to the training stables. Mrs Robinson acknowledged that the gelding did show signs of blood in one nostril. Mrs Robinson was found guilty of a charge under AR117 (3) with having removed ADIAN WAY from the saddling enclosure contrary to that rule. Mrs Robinson was fined the sum of $500. Mrs Robinson was further notified that prior to ADIAN WAY again racing it must perform to the satisfaction of stewards in an official barrier trial over at least 1000 meteres.
