As there were no riders available for the following horses they were withdrawn by Stewards at 1.30pm
Race 4 MAJESTIC ANNIE
Race 4 GOLDEN SUPREMACY

Race 5 ITAIPU
Race 5 PRINCELY MILL

RACE ONE CLASS C HCP – 1OOO M

As there was no suitable rider available to replace M Osmond as the rider of SHIZARA (NZ), M Osmond was given permission to ride the mare 1 ½ kilograms overweight.

In the middle stages of the race BINGO BREN got it’s head up and raced greenly when racing behind other runners. G Browder, the geldings rider stated that the gelding did not appreciate the sand being thrown up by the other runners.

1st BUCKLERS HARD. 2nd HASTY RHYTHM. 3rd MAGIC CITY.

RACE TWO OPEN HCP – 1OOO M

As M Osmond was to be overweight. Stewards permitted G Browder to replace him as the rider of BASEMENT. M Osmond was fined $100 for accepting rides for which he was subsequently overweight (AR120(b)).

When the gates opened BUTKUS was slow into stride.

1st MASINDOR. 2nd BUTKUS. 3rd DR. HARRY.

RACE THREE CLASS 2 HCP – 11OO M

When the gates opened OUR POWERBALL was slow to begin.

On jumping away BOWEN SPECIAL and CRACK THE WHIP came together.

G Clarke, rider of OUR POWERBALLL was fined $100 for excessive use of the whip on that gelding (AR137A(1)).

1st JIM’SHOUT. 2nd BROTHER’S VENTURE. 3rd CROWN COUNSEL.

RACE FOUR CLASS D HCP – 13OO M

On jumping away SIR OSCAR shifted out and tightened CABIN which had jumped awkwardly, as a result CABIN was tightened onto the hindquarters of NEARMISS.

Near the 650 metres CABIN (J Hallam (a)) shifted in slightly and tightened SIR OSCAR. Shortly after this SIR OSCAR clipped the heels of CABIN when being eased. J Hallam (a) was reprimanded and notified that he must ensure he leaves sufficient room for other runners in future.

G Clarke, trainer of EIRE SUPPLY was fined $30 for presenting that gelding with blinkers when not approved to race in that gear (AR140A).

1st CABIN. 2nd CLASSIC CHOICE. 3rd STORM CONTROL.

RACE FIVE CLASS 5 HCP – 13OO M

Near the 500 metres KALASHOW, which was shifting out to obtain a clear run, had to be checked off the heels of AWESOME DIAMOND.

1st GOTHAM RULER. 2nd EMBRACES. 3rd BRONZE CHEIRON.

All winners were swabbed today

Bookmakers R Smith, O Mairou, M Sweeney and G Finestone were fined $50 for failing to display their odds on a local race by the time prescribed by the Club.
