Race 1 - PLASTA MASTA HALLAM 2YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres:

"Moycullen" was slow to begin.

The Stewards questioned Mr. K. Allison, trainer of "Moycullen", and Mr. Alderson, stable representative for Mr. D.L. Freedman, trainer of "Atin", regarding a report from the Club's Starter that both these colts were difficult to load. The Stewards notified Mr. Allison and Mr. Alderson that "Moycullen" and "Atin" were issued with a warning, and prior to starting again a barrier certificate must be produced for the colts. As a result of this the start of the race was delayed.

Race 2 - THOROUGHBRED CLUB 3YO MAIDEN PLATE (1) - 1400 metres:

After being placed in its starting stall "I Gotcha Babe" reared when fractious, and became cast. Acting on a report from the Club's Veterinary Surgeon that the filly was unfit to start, the Stewards withdrew "I Gotcha Babe" from the event at 12.22 p.m.

Subsequently the Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on "I Gotcha Babe" be refunded, and that all successful bets on horses prior to the time of withdrawal of "I Gotcha Babe" be subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: Win Bets: Seventeeen cents; Place Bets: Fifteen cents; Winning Concession Bets: Seventeen cents, and Doubles Bets: Seventeen cents. All monies bet after the Stewards' declaration of withdrawal were ordered to be paid at face value of the ticket.

The Stewards, after interviewing the Starter and Ms Natalie Butcher, trainer of "I Gotcha Babe", notified Ms Butcher that "I Gotcha Babe" would not be permitted to start until it trials to the Stewards' satisfaction and was in receipt of a barrier certificate.

In the early stages of the race the saddle on "Keldolier" slipped forward, which resulted in Wayne Davis easing the filly out of the race near the 600 metres.

Rounding the home turn "Master Daniel" was held up.

Race 3 - THOROUGHBRED CLUB 3YO MAIDEN PLATE (2) - 1400 metres:

"Errol" jumped inwards and made contact with "For your Love (NZ)".

Race 4 - TROA CARLTON DRAUGHT MAIDEN PLATE - 1600 metres:

"Blamey (NZ)" was slow to begin.

Mrs. Wendy Kelly, trainer of "Born to Hustle", reported that the gelding had pulled up lame in the off fore leg.

Race 5 - RAISE A GRAND CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1000 metres:

Near the 600 metres "Duke of Wellington" faltered in the going, lost its footing, and became unbalanced. "Poetic Pursuit", which was following, was inconvenienced.

In the straight "Hulavie" was disappointed for a run.

Race 6 - KEMP & PARTNERS TAXATION HANDICAP - 1400 metres:

"Tombola" jumped away awkwardly, and lost ground.

Near the 400 metres "Runs on Ego" was eased when disappointed for a run between "Another Neptune" and "Hastings".

Race 7 - COMPUTERCOM SUPERSTORES CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 2025 metres:

No report.

Race 8 - JAYCO CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

Near the 800 metres "Redison", when over-racing, shifted out slightly, and was then checked off the heels of "Ziparche", which was racing greenly .

Rounding the home turn "Pagola" was held up for a short distance.

Subsequent to the race the Club's Veterinary Surgeon reported that "Grandy Ole" had a respiratory cough, and "Ziparche", which was galloped on, was lame in the near fore leg.

Race 9 - PLASTA MASTA HALLAM CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1400 metres:

After confirming with Racing Services Bureau that "Merkaba" had been officially scratched at 8.07 a.m. yesterday and had been inadvertently left in the field, the Stewards ordered the scratching of "Merkaba" at 11.23 am today.

SWAB SAMPLES were taken from the winners of the following races: "Special Scene" (Race 2); "King of Wellington (NZ)" (Race 4); "Gold Boom" (Race 6); "Randoman (NZ)" (Race 7) and "Smooth Rancho" (Race 8).
