When questioned regarding his riding tactics in the vicinity of the entrance to the straight, Darren Holland, the rider of JUG FULL, explained that prior to entering the straight he had considered improving to his outside, however, believed that to do so he would have had to restrain momentarily around the heels of CROWNED LOVE (S. Cahill) and, in doing so, would have had to shift at least four horses. He stated that he had followed BUTTON COUNTER (S. Price) and was surprised that filly was not taking him into the race as he would have expected. He added that he had formed an opinion that his mount was not travelling well enough to take the option to his outside and for this reason had considered his best option was to save ground riding for luck in the straight. Over the concluding 200 metres he confirmed that he was unable to obtain clear running. Stewards advised Darren Holland his explanation would be noted.
