No report.

Race 3 - CARDINIA SUPER VOBIS HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

Acting on a report from the Starter regarding the unruly behaviour of "Greenstone" when being placed in its starting stall, the Stewards notified Mr. W. Hawkes, who was representing his father, Mr. J. Hawkes, trainer, that should the filly behave in a similar manner in future more severe action may be taken against it. Mr. Hawkes was further notified that prior to "Greenstone" racing again he must be in receipt of a barrier test certificate for it.

"Jayjaye (NZ)" was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start "Sinner" and "Mintaka" were inconvenienced when tightened for room between "Bimbo Limbo" and "Fairbit", which shifted in. A. Findlay, rider of "Fairbit", was notified to ensure that he is clear of other runners when shifting ground.

"Secret Desire" had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the straight, and approaching the winning post had to be steadied off the heels of "Greenstone".

Race 4 - THE FRANK ELLIS PLATE - 1600 metres:

In the early stages of the race the saddle on "Charlann" shifted forward, which inconvenienced Craig Newitt, the rider of the mare, for the remainder of the race.

"Charlann" suffered a bleeding attack during the running of the race. As this is the second occasion on which "Charlann" has suffered a bleeding attack, the mare is now barred from racing.

Race 5 - ST. KEVINS COLLEGE PLATE - 1600 metres:

Near the 1300 metres "The Doctor's Son" shifted in, clipped the heels of "Candana Lad (NZ)", and almost fell. "Cherak (NZ)", which was on the inside of "The Doctor's Son", was hampered.

Race 6 - SWISSE VITAMINS CUP - 1000 metres:

At the entrance to the straight "Strategic Hit" had to be eased off the heels of "Quaytman", which shifted out to obtain a run.

Race 7 - LE PINE FUNERAL SERVICES HANDICAP - 1400 metres:

"La Monja" was slow to begin.

Race 8 - ESKDALE HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

"Rhone Valley" jumped away awkwardly.
