Race 1 - SHIRE OF STRATHBOGIE MAIDEN
PLATE.
Shortly after the start Zabacci (NZ) shifted in abruptly,
and lost some ground.
Race 2 - T.J. NOLAN MAIDEN PLATE.
On jumping away Blue Prominence was hampered for room
between The Bear and Arch Rose, both of whom shifted slightly. Approaching the 1300 metres
Romansa which was over racing shifted out and brushed The Bear. Blue Prominence, which was
racing on the outside of The Bear then shifted out away from that gelding and lost some
ground. Near the 500 metres Mitch's Magic was hampered when racing greenly between Siraami
and Romansa which shifted in slightly. Near the 200 metres Corundum when weakening was
hampered when tightened for room by Star Flight (C. Massey) which shifted in under
pressure. C. Massey was severely reprimanded and notified that he must straighten his
mounts when shifting ground as not to interfere with other runners in future.
Race 3 - DUSTY DAVIDSON MAIDEN PLATE.
Rare Dream was slow to begin and when the gates opened
Common Spirit reared and lost some ground.
Race 4 - BURTONS STORES FILLIES AND
MARES CLASS 1 HANDICAP.
Shortly after the start Jungle Bird was hampered when
tightened for room by La Cimbali (NZ) which shifted in Devonshire Tea, jumped away
awkwardly and lost some ground.
Race 5 - H.S. ARCHDALL EUROA CUP.
B. Johns rider of Pride Rock which performed below
expectations explained to the stewards that the gelding was slightly restless in the
barriers and sustained a small abrasion to it's nose and when the gelding was put under
pressure prior to the home turn failed to respond to his riding. Johns further added that
in his opinion the abrasion to the geldings nose did not affect it's performance today.
Subsequent to the race the club vet reported there was no abnormality other than a
superficial graze to the geldings head.
Race 6 - MOTELS OF EUROA CLASS 2
HANDICAP.
In the straight Playground laid in under pressure.
Subsequent to the race the club vet reported that Big Bad Dan was showing some signs of
distress.
Race 7 - THOMSONS OF EUROA ANDREW
GILBERT MEMORIAL CLASS 2 HANDICAP.
No report.
Race 8 - BUNDABERG RUM CLASS 3
HANDICAP.
Long Bow was slow to begin.

RACE 1.
Stewards accepted the explanation of Mr T. Dynon trainer of
Shakota, regarding the late notification of L. Dowson as the riding of the gelding. An
amended stable return was received for Shakota showing D & Mrs P Main, K. Doyle, G
& Mrs A Skelhorn, Miss M Grant & G Bunyard, as the nominators of the gelding.
RACE 5.
Stewards accepted the explanation of Mr. B. Cox trainer of
Al Borak (NZ) regarding the late notification of G. Evagora as the rider of the gelding. |
