Race 1 - CADBURY SCHWEPPES FILLIES
& MARES CLASS 1 HANDICAP. 1100 metres.
Approaching the 800m Cipher shifted in and brushed
Keynotes. Near the 700m Keynotes shifted in away from Rain Gift and inconvenienced
Henpecked. Shortly after this incident, Henpecked and Keynotes came together resulting in
both of these horses becoming unbalanced. After passing the 100m La Fav shifted out
towards Henpecked resulting in Henpecked being accidentally being struck on the head by
the whip of B. Ward rider of La Fav.
Race 2 - SCHWEPPES SOLO MAIDEN PLATE
1200 metres.
Acting on a report from the starter that Brumaire proved
difficult to load into the starting stalls and as a consequence delayed the start.
Stewards notified Ms M. Champion representing trainer G. Eurell that the filly was now
suspended from racing until such time as she trials to the satisfaction of the stewards in
a trial at which time she must also receive a barrier certificate. In the early stages of
the event Lady Farmer raced greenly, and near the 800m when continuing to race
ungenerously shifted out abruptly resulting in Ruins clipping the heels of that mare
knuckling and dislodging it's rider L. Nolen. Mr. J. Scott trainer of Lady Farmer was
notified a warning is being placed on the mare for her erratic behaviour today and should
she perform in a similar manner in future she may be suspended from racing for a period.
On returning to scale Brumaire dislodged its rider W. Hokai.
Race 3 - CADBURY DAIRY MILK FILLIES
AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE 1600 metres.
Muffin McLay was slow to begin.
Race 4 - CADBURYS SUPER VOBIS THREE -
YEARS - OLD CLASS 1200 metres.
M. Hutchins trainer of Make Your Mark was notified that he
must produce the document of description for the filly before racing again. Thelonius was
slow to begin. Shortly after the start Lancaster's Gold and Colevus were tightened for
room between Make Your Mark which shifted in slightly and Hurricane Vic which shifted out
on jumping away. Approaching the winning post Hurricane Vic was inconvenienced when racing
tight between Make Your Mark and Sunday Drive.
Race 5 - RED TULIP EASTER CUP. 1200
metres.

Race 6 - BLUEBERRY ICE CREAM CLASS 1
HANDICAP 2300 metres.
Near the 800m Sunburnt Hopi had to be checked when
tightened for room between Hawaii Jig (E. Marchant) which shifted out and Pure Control
which shifted in slightly. E. Marchant was notified that he must exercise more care when
shifting ground in future. In the straight Manntari Rox (NZ) had some difficulty obtaining
a clear run. Prior to correct weight M. Heagney rider of Nartarlee second placing wished
to view the stewards patrol video in the straight with a view to lodging an objection
against the winner. After viewing the film M. Heagney did not proceed with an objection.
Near the 200m Regal Hawk shifted in and brushed Nartarlee. Nartarlee then shifted out and
brushed Regal Hawk.
Race 7 - SCHWEPPES CLASS 4 HANDICAP
1400 metres.
After being placed in it's starting stall Love Lessons
damaged it's blinkers and as the starter did not have a suitable replacement set. The
stewards ordered the blinkers be removed.
Race 8 - ALLITT ROBINSON FAREWELL
CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1600 metres.
V. Hal rider of Monza Mika stated that after the gelding
began awkwardly he got further out of his ground then anticipated in the early stages and
added that he elected to take a run through the field rounding the home turn rather than
race wide. V. Hall further added that he then had some difficulty obtaining a clear run in
the straight. Near the 200m Laudine (NZ) was hampered due to Jungle Bird (NZ) shifting in
slightly.
