Race 1 - Great Western F& M Maiden Plate - 1300m -

Correct weight was delayed as J. Patton rider of Miss Prosperity, 4th placegetter, wished to view the photo finish print. After viewing the photo finish print J. Patton agreed with the Judge's placings.

When the gates opened Café Danza and Kyiv Magic bumped and as a result Café Danza knuckled.

After passing the 1000 metres Miss Prosperity had to be eased off the heels of Café Danza.

In the middle stages of the race the saddle on Tasman Princess (NZ) shifted forward resulting in B. Rawiller rider of the filly being at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.

Race 2 - Tooheys New SV 3YO F Maiden Plate - 1100m -

Stewards received a confirmed telephone call from Mr. R. Laing trainer of Venetian Blush and The Gurkha (NZ) in Race 3, who stated that he intended to scratch both horses prior to official scratching time, however, due to a communications breakdown was unable to contact Racing Services Bureau. until subsequent to 8.00 a.m. Acting on this, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of both named horses at 9.00 a. m.

On jumping away Impegatrice (NZ) bounded in the air and lost ground.

At the entrance to the straight Flame Star shifted out and hampered Helsinki.

Race 3 - Shamrock Hotel Maiden Plate - 2200m

When the gates opened Trivial Quiz jumped away awkwardly.

Turning out of the straight Ty Tannick (NZ) shifted in and brushed the running rail.

Shortly after the crossing near the 1800 metres Gold Sky knuckled.

Approaching the 200 metres Sir Tankard (NZ) shifted out and brushed Bionics (NZ).

Race 4 - Sutton Grange Stud SV 3YO Class 1 Handicap - 1400m

Prior to correct weight N. Rawiller rider of Riva Storm, 2nd placegetter viewed the Stewards patrol video before deciding not to lodge an objection.

When the gates opened Paris Commander jumped away awkwardly. Shortly after this Paris Commander and Blues Madam (NZ) were tightened for room between Chairman's Choice, which shifted out and Cappucine, which shifted in.

Near the 1100 metres Rescato, which was over-racing, had to be checked off the heels of French Tempo (NZ). When being checked Rescato shifted out and hampered Cappucine. Shortly after this Cappucine shifted in and tightened Riva Storm in on to Funny Gal.

Approaching the 400 metres Riva Storm shifted out slightly and had to be eased off the heels of Rescato.

Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight Chairman's Choice was held up when unable to obtain a clear run.

In the straight Rodrigo hung in.

Race 5 - Jetset Bendigo Handicaop - 1100m

Shortly after the start Skilling was hampered when tightened for room between Ruscidi, which shifted in and Runs To Win, which was taken out by Geronimo Run.

After passing the 400 metres Night Spot was hampered by Black Magic, which shifted out,

Over the concluding stages Black Magic had a tendency to lay out under pressure.

Race 6 - 3BO F & M Class 1 Handicap - 1000m

No report.

Race 7 - Savage Club Class 4 Handicap - 1300m

Shortly after the start Fusing threw its head up, unbalancing its rider N. Wilson.

Approaching the 100 metres Rub Shoulders and Speeding Turtle came together when both horses shifted ground.

Race 8 - Eat Well Live Well Class 2 Handicap - 1400m

In the early stages of the race Order To Go over-raced.

In the middle stages of the race Gleeso hung out.

Rounding the home turn Raise The Ark, which was taken out by Piachay (NZ), had to be checked off the heels of Raging Rhino (NZ), which was weakening.

B. Prebble rider of Order To Go, which performed below expectations stated to the stewards, that the horse over-raced in the early stages but could offer no further explanation for the horse's poor performance today. A subsequent Veterinary examination of Order TO Go failed to reveal any abnormality.

SWAB SAMPLES

Swab samples were taken from the following winners - Brief Stay (Race 1), Errol (Race 3), Skilling (Race 5), Speeding Turtle (Race 7)

A random swab sample was taken from Gleeso (Race 8) which was unplaced.

FINES & EXPLANATIONS

Mr. N. Harnett trainer of Paris Commander (Race 4) was fined $50 for his late notification of L. Coffey as the rider of the gelding.

Mr. W. Mitchell trainer of Miss Tiffany (Race 8) was fined the sum of $200 for failing to produce the document of description for the mare, which was having its first start in Victoria.
