Race 1 - Eat Well Live Well Maiden Plate - 1600m

When asked if he could offer any explanation for the poor performance of Meadow (NZ) today, D. Nikolic the gelding's rider stated that Meadow (NZ) enjoyed a comfortable run throughout the event and was travelling well at the entrance to the straight, but then did not respond to his riding as expected when put under pressure shortly after straightening. D. Nikolic added that he could offer no explanation for the horse's poor performance today, and stated that the horse felt normal in its action on return to scale. A Veterinary examination of Meadow (NZ) revealed no abnormalities.

Near the 1400 metres Shultz (NZ) was tightened on to At The Time (NZ) by Umight, which shifted in slightly, when being eased off the heels of Bonoval.

Race 2 - Elliot Bros. SV 3YO C & G Maiden Plate - 1100m

Near the 1000 metres Flanigan and Dynamic Danzer both had to be checked when tightened for room between Shelltrice, which shifted out slightly, and What A Brew, which shifted in away from Ruben, which was shifting in at an acute angle.

Near the 800 metres Eat 'Em Alive, which was over-racing, had to be eased off the heels of Wise Up.

During the running of the race Smiling Eyes lost its off fore plate.

Race 3 - Midstate Credit Management SV 3YO F Maiden Plate - 1100m

Matthew Williams trainer of Devon Dancer was notified that he must produce the document of description for the filly, prior to her starting again.

Rounding the home turn Ithica was held up and unable to obtain a clear run.

Near the 200 metres Ithica shifted out and tightened Clever Jeel on to Tip Star, resulting in both those horses becoming unbalanced.

Race 4 - Morey & Hurford Class 2 Handicap - 1100m

On jumping away Ruskin was tightened for room between Royal Isolt and Ha'Penny Bridge, which both shifted ground. As a result, the saddle on Royal Isolt shifted back, which placed its rider Vincent Caddy at a disadvantage for a short distance.

Race 5 - Family Videoland Open Handicap - 1400m

Rotang (NZ) began awkwardly and lost ground.

Race 6 - Limerick Tavern Class 1 Handicap - 1300m

Prior to correct weight Nash Rawiller rider of Gentrified (NZ), 2nd placegetter wished to view the Stewards patrol video with regard to lodging an objection. After viewing the video Nash Rawiller did not proceed with an objection. It was established in the straight Gentrified (NZ) shifted in and brushed Keynotes.

On jumping away Cockatiel had to be checked and lost ground when tightened for room between Conamber and Gentrified (NZ), which both shifted ground.

After passing the 800 metres Chardarri, when being steadied off the heels of Rumour Control (NZ), shifted out slightly and bumped Cockatiel, resulting in Chardarri becoming unbalanced and losing a little ground.

Shortly after straightening Conamber had some difficulty in obtaining a clear run.

Race 7 - All Seasons International Class 3 Handicap - 2400m

On jumping away Backstreet Boy began awkwardly and lost a little ground.

In the straight Backstreet Boy laid in under pressure.

Near the 50 metres Petite Jeune Fille was hampered due to O'Beil being taken in by Backstreet Boy, which was laying in.

When asked if he could offer any explanation for Spirited Raami, which performed below expectations, Luke Currie the gelding's rider stated that when the gelding won last start at Geelong, after settling midfield, the horse improved mid-race to race in a forward position, and today opted to lead on the gelding, but stated that Spirited Raami in his opinion, may not have been suited to leading today and was a beaten horse at the entrance to the straight. A Veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Race 8 - Tooheys New Class 1 Handicap - 1600m

At the entrance to the straight Bastille Rule had some difficulty in obtaining a clear run and approaching the winning post Flying Heights (NZ) was also held up and unable to obtain a clear run.

Routine swab samples were taken from the following winners - Perfect Zero (Race 3), Keynotes (Race 6), Miss Mayfair (Race 8)

Random swab samples were taken from the following winners - Portland Place (Race 1), Palace Chief (Race 5)

Pre-race blood samples were taken from the following runners for post race analysis - Race 5 - Elephant Rock and Leonard, Race 7 - Sir Cool (NZ), Spirited Raami and Mrs. Humphrey
