Rounding the home turn Gejastjo laid in and bumped Ruby Lips.

Near the 150 metres Val Gardena threw its head in the air after reacting to the whip action of S. Arnold rider of World Of Dreams.

Race 2 - 3BO SV 3YO F Maiden Plate - 1150m

Palatash was slow to begin.

In the straight Taylor Dane hung in.

In the early part of the straight Palatash was reluctant to take a narrow run between Beetee and Northwest Belle (NZ).

Race 3 - De Araugo & Lea Electrical SV 2YO Maiden Plate - 1280m

Magic Bird was slow to begin.

Rounding the home turn Magic Bird was taken out off its course by I'll Be Gone.

Near the 200 metres Raver, which was shifting out, was then eased off the heels of Dendane, which shifted in.

In the early part of the straight Adri Marie was disappointed for a run on the inside of Shiva and then between that gelding and Gold Cruise.

Race 8 - McIntosh Signs Class 2 Handicap - 2180m

My Belle Amie (NZ) jumped away awkwardly.

Passing the 150 metres My Belle Amie (NZ) was taken in by Mrs. Humphrey (C. Symons) and My Belle Amie (NZ) was then eased over that mare's heels. C. Symons was reprimanded and notified to exercise far more care when shifting ground in future.

B. Rawiller rider of The Duce, which performed below expectations, explained that the gelding after enjoying a good run, failed to respond to his riding from the 500 metres. The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported no abnormalities.

SWAB SAMPLES

Swab samples were taken from the following winners - Gejastjo (Race 1), I'll Be Gone (Race 3), Solid Wood (Race 5) and Leonard (Race 5) equal winners, Chiaretto (Race 7)

A random swab sample was taken from Taylor Dane (Race 2), 4th placegetter

Pre-race blood samples for post race analysis were taken from 4 runners today.

FINES & EXPLANATIONS

Robert Smerdon trainer of The Duce (Race 8) was fined $50 for late notification of rider.

Ray Lawson trainer of Amorous Interlude (Race 8) informed the Stewards that he had notified his rider in accordance with the rules.
