Race 1 - Frank Ford Travel 4yo & Up Maiden Plate - 1400 Metres

Race 2 - Nebozuk Carpets S/V Maiden Plate (1) - 1400 Metres

Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Mr C Alderson, trainer of Bikini Love, who stated that the filly had an elevated temperature and was unfit to run, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Bikini Love at 9.43. Mr Alderson did submit a veterinary certificate in respect of the filly.

Polaire jumped away awkwardly.

In the middle stages of the race, Main Mission raced ungenerously, and had to be checked off the heels of other runners on several occasions.

Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight, Carte D'or had difficulty in obtaining a clear run.

Throughout the race, Polaire raced greenly, and in the straight shifted in under pressure on two occasions and inconvenienced Gold Coup.

Race 3 - The Courier 2yo Maiden Plate - 1400 Metres

Sweet Corn was slow to begin.

Passing the 1200 metres Glenmorgan (NZ) had to be checked to avoid the heels of M'Lady's Manor (L Robertson) which shifted in away from Ferrari Uno. L Robertson was reprimanded and notified that he must do his utmost to protect his fellow riders in future.

Passing the 1000 metres Sweet Corn, which was over-racing, had to be checked off the heels of Glenmorgan(NZ). Approaching the 800 metres, Sweet Corn, which continued to over-ace, had to be checked off the heels of Chevignon.

Race 4 - Bakers Delight 3yo & up Maiden Plate - 2000 Metres

En-route to the barrier, Pazazz (NZ) took charge of its rider for some distance. The gelding was examined by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to run.

M Pay, rider of Pazazz stated to the Stewards that he was instructed to lead, however the gelding got its head up and raced ungenerously, and for this reason, went harder in the early and middle stages of the race than intended. M Pay added that because of this, Pazazz was a beaten horse prior to the home turn.

Race 5 - Peter Amor Motors S/V Maiden Plate (2) - 1400 Metres

As Den's Park was unable to be loaded into the barrier, the Starter ordered the withdrawal of the filly at 2.17. Subsequent to the race, the Stewards ordered the following deductions in relation to betting: All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on Den's Park to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal of Den's Park are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket; Win Bets - 3 cents, Place Bets - 4 cents, Winning Concession Bets - 3 cents, Doubles Bets - 3 cents.

Mr L Treloar, trainer of Den's Park was notified by the Stewards that the filly was now suspended from racing, until such time as Den's Park performs to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an organised trial, and at such trial must also obtain a Barrier Test Certificate in respect of the filly.

Near the 800 metres Mr Longfellow had to be checked off the heels of More Riches. As a result Bridie's Love which was following, was hampered in consequence.

Approaching the 200 metres, Bridie's Love was disappointed for a run between Nerozero and Danerette.

Race 6 - Eureka Real Estate Class 6 Hcp - 1500 Metres

Kruger King (NZ) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 200 metres, Flying Belle (D Smith) which was making ground, had to be checked off the heels of Dare To Win which was weakening. When being checked, Flying Belle clipped the heels of Dare To Win. D Smith was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to race onto the heels of Dare To Win.

Race 7 - Teac Rising Stars Class 2 Hcp App Riders Only - 1400 Metres

On arrival at the barriers Beau Laird was examined by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to run.

On the home turn Kaarston had to be checked when tightened for room between Spontane which shifted in slightly and Scalded Cat (L Milham) which shifted out to avoid the heels of Shugaa. When being checked, Kaarston clipped the heels of Scalded Cat. L Milham was severely reprimanded and notified that he must make a far greater effort to protect his fellow riders in future.

Approaching the 200 metres, Shugaa was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of Jade Da Rose, rider of Amanakazi.

Race 8 - Carlton Draught Class 3 Hcp - 1200 Metres

An inquiry into the reason for Phinrow having to be checked near the 1100 metres was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

An inquiry into the reason for M Allen, rider of Black Widow and Lincoln Coffey, rider of Caso Maggio leaving the course without obtaining a clearance from the Stewards, was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

Shrewdly Different jumped away awkwardly.

Near the 300 metres No Debate was disappointed for a run where there was insufficient room between Multi Bonza and Pindarri Gold, which was taken in by Black Widow. Shortly after this, Pindarri Gold had to be checked when tightened for room between Black Widow and Multi Bonza(F Alesci) which shifted out. F Alesci was severely reprimanded for shifting ground when not clear.

Approaching the winning post, Sweet City Sioux had to be eased when tightened for room between No Debate and Pindarri Gold which shifted in.

Race 9 - Worksafe Victoria F/M Class 1 Hcp - 1000 Metres

Princess Avon (NZ) knuckled on jumping away, and Kinther Gem jumped away awkwardly.

Rounding the home turn Reef Wind, which had a tendency to over-race had to be checked off the heels of other runners.

FINES

Race 1 - Mr K. Smith, trainer of Ski Aha, was fined $30 for using the wrong colours on the gelding.

Race 2 - Mr R Cameron, trainer of Ninya, was fined $50 for his late notification of K Mc Evoy as the rider of the filly

Race 4 - Mr A Vasil, trainer of Starcove Dancer (NZ) was fined $50 for his late notification of D Nikolic as the rider of the the gelding.

Race 9 - Mr D Daffy trainer of Kinther Gem, was fined $30 for using wrong colours on the mare.

SWAB SAMPLES - Swab samples were taken from the following winners:
Race 1 - Keep It Regal
Race 5 - Celtic Heights
Race 6 - Love My Pet
Race 8 - Costa Grande

A random swab sample was taken from:
Race 3: Ferrari Uno - unplaced.
Pre race blood samples were taken from five horses for post race analysis.
