Inside the 800 metres RED TRICK (J.
Potter), which was inclined to race ungenerously, was obliged to steady away from the
heels of SUPER BOOM (S. Price), which shifted in. S. Price was severely reprimanded and
advised to take greater care when shifting ground in future.
In the vicinity of the 700 metres SOCIAL
HOST (B. Vale) got its head up and raced ungenerously before shifting out abruptly near
the 600 metres.

out under pressure in the straight.

SABIS TWO-YEAR-OLD SPECIAL CONDITIONS HANDICAP (Division 1) 1060 metres
LAMBRETTA (N. Tomizawa) was slow to
jump.
ARMED AND READY (J. Holder) jumped away
awkwardly and shifted out inconveniencing MY CHEEKY (B. Vale).
Near the 700 metres ARMED AND READY (J.
Holder), which had commenced to race keenly, improved onto the heels of MY CHEEKY (B.
Vale) and was obliged to steady.
YOUNG ROSE (P. Gatt) was inclined to race
greenly in the early stages of the race and then laid out prior to entering the straight.
Near the 200 metres SOUTHERN MARAUDER (A.
Stead), which had been inclined to race greenly, shifted in abruptly and continued to race
greenly.
ARMED AND READY (J. Holder) was inclined to
race greenly in the straight.
Subsequent to the race Mr. P. Blanch, the
trainer of ARMED AND READY, was advised that an endoscopic examination of ARMED AND READY
would be required before the gelding accepted for a future event.
RACE 3 MALAYSIA AIRLINES /
SABIS TWO-YEAR-OLD SPECIAL CONDITIONS HANDICAP (Division 2) 1060 metres
LOTHIAN (S. Cahill) was slow to
jump.
CLAY MAN (J. Maund) shifted out on jumping
away taking AKAL (J. Bowditch) out onto CLAY FINALE (D. Carney), which was inconvenienced.
Approaching the 700 metres ROCKS
FOLLY (C. Lindop) was obliged to steady off the heels of SMOKEFORCE (J. Potter), which
shifted in.
After entering the straight ROCKS
FOLLY (C. Lindop) was inclined to race greenly and lay in under pressure.
Near the 200 metres SMOKEFORCE (J. Potter),
which was inclined to lay in, shifted in onto PRINCESS ANNANDON (B. Claridge) taking that
filly in onto AKAL (J. Bowditch).
On return to scale D. Carney, the rider of
the fourth placegetter CLAY FINALE, requested to view the official footage and after doing
so, lodged an objection against the third placegetter, CLAY MAY (J. Maund), on the grounds
of alleged interference near the 300 metres. After considering the evidence, on viewing
the official footage and action on their own observations, Stewards DISMISSED the
objection.
RACE 4 ARDROSSAN BP ROADHOUSE
MAIDEN PLATE 1619 metres
OSH was withdrawn by Stewards at 10.07
am acting on confirmed advice from Mr. G. Lesnikowski that the gelding had sustained an
injury to the off hind leg.
KENTON KNIGHT (S. Price) was inclined to
race ungenerously in the early stages of the race.
In the vicinity of the 200 metres ZAKNIYA
(J. Bowditch) was inclined to lay in under pressure.
Inside the 200 metres CARRAJA (B. Vale) was
inconvenienced when attempting to improve inside BOWOOD ROAD (T. Creek), which was
inclined to lay in under pressure.
RACE 5 DEANE LINKE DENTURE
CLINIC DISTANCE CLASS 3 HANDICAP 2219 metres
ESPRIT DE JEUNE (M. Hoppo) shifted out
and brushed DRACONIAN (S. Price) on jumping away.
Inside the 200 metres HOSTILE LAD (N.
Tomizawa) laid in under pressure.
RACE 6 PORT VINCENT TAKE AWAY
CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1219 metres
LINDROS (N. Tomizawa) jumped away
awkwardly.
KEEN ON BILL (C. Lindop) was slow to jump.
Near the 900 metres LORD ARLINGTON (B.
Claridge), which had commenced to race ungenerously, was obliged to steady when tightened
between LINDROS (N. Tomizawa), which rolled out, and SMYTZERS MUSTANG (J. Bowditch),
which shifted in. J. Bowditch was severely reprimanded and advised to take greater care
when shifting ground in future.
RACE 7 PORT VINCENT HOLIDAY
CABINS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1419 metres
On jumping away CAPTIVATE YOU (M.
Hoppo) shifted out and inconvenienced SIMCEPT (J. Potter).
Near the 1000 metres BENARDO (D. Tootell)
shifted in and tightened SHUKU HAI (N. Tomizawa), which was inclined to lay in and away
from BENARDO, onto LINE OF GOLD (J. Maund), which was inconvenienced. D. Tootell was
reminded of his obligations.
CAPTIVATE YOU (M. Hoppo), which was
inclined to lay out in the early and middle stages of the race, shifted out approaching
the home turn and hung out in the straight. CAPTIVATE YOU was examined by the Clubs
Veterinary Surgeon who reported no visible abnormalities. Mr. D. OLeary, the trainer
of CAPTIVATE YOU, was advised that after considering that mares history, it was now
suspended from racing for a period of thirty days and would then be required to perform
satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a turn before accepting for a future
event.
RACE 8 STAN & JOAN EVANS
CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1619 metres
KENSARM, which had been kicked in the
off hind leg leaving the enclosure, was examined by the Clubs Veterinary Surgeon and
ruled fit to start.
KENSARM (A. Stead) jumped away awkwardly.
KENSARM (A. Stead) raced ungenerously in
the early and middle stages of the race.

CHIEF (M. Neilson), which shifted in.
Shortly after entering the straight COMO
PRINCE (T. Creek) was obliged to steady off the heels of RANGATAUNGA (B. Vale), which
shifted in abruptly.
Subsequent to the race a veterinary
inspection of SEACOAL LANE revealed no visible abnormality.
