Rail: Out 4 metres from 1000 – 300 metres

RACE 1 – COOPERS / SABIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE – 1056 metres

ETERNAL SONG was late scratching, by order of the Stewards at 8.10 a.m.

The start was delayed several minutes as REKORB had to be replated on the off fore by the Farrier.

CYBERLINA (S. Price) jumped away awkwardly.

AVIADOR (C. Lever) jumped in at the start and bumped MISS CORVETTE (B. Vale), which shifted in and brushed REMEMBERANCE DAY (G. Dorol).

MANGAN (D. Carney), which showed a tendency to lay out in the middle stages, shifted out at the 600 metres and bumped CYBERLINA (S. Price). CYBERLINA then shifted out onto REKORB (Darren Holland), which in turn shifted out and brushed AVIADOR (C. Lever), who shifted out and brushed GREG (J. Potter).

RACE 2 – MALAYSIA AIRLINES / SABIS TWO-YEAR-OLD SPECIAL CONDITIONS HANDICAP – 1211 metres

The start was delayed when KATTAVIA (J. Holder) and TAJ JEUR (S. Price) were difficult to load. Mr. A. Gluyas representing Trainer Mr. L. Macdonald (KATTAVIA), and Mr. T. Dabernig representing Trainer Mr. A. McEvoy (TAJ JEUR), were advised that a warning had been placed on the horses in relation to their barrier manners.

SCAFFOLD (D. Carney) was slow to begin.

LENSTRA (J. Maund) showed a tendency to race greenly in the early and middle stages.

Near the 200 metres LENSTRA (J. Maund) shifted in for a few strides and as a result TAJ JEUR (S. Price) was taken in onto PIPKIN (B. Claridge), resulting in that filly having to be steadied for a short distance.

Subsequent to the event a Veterinary inspection of MISS FORLANI revealed the filly returned with a quartered near hind heel.

RACE 3 – PRICE’S BAKERY CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1611 metres

No report.

RACE 4 – WOODSTOCK MAIDEN PLATE (1st Division) – 1211 metres

HECKLE (W. Kerford) and ANGELAQ (D. Tootell) were slow to begin.

In the vicinity of the 1000 metres PRIMED FOR GLORY (J. Holder) shifted out and as a result HILLVIEW RIDGE (J. Bowditch) shifted out and away from PRIMED FOR GLORY and bumped FONNIX (P. Gatt).

In the vicinity of the 800 metres FONNIX (P. Gatt) commenced to race ungenerously and had to be steadied off the heels of KATE’S BRIDGE (S. Price).

Inside the 200 metres DEVARAJA DAAN (S. Cahill) showed a tendency to lay in.

B. Claridge (SIR MAVARICK) accidentally dropped his whip in the vicinity of the 200 metres. B. Claridge was reminded of his obligations and advised that a repetition could result in action being taken against him.

Subsequent to the race Veterinary examinations of STRIDING and ANGELAQ revealed both horses were suffering from an irregular heartbeat. Trainers Mr. G. Lesnikowski (STRIDING) and Mr. G. Kennewell (ANGELAQ) were advised that their horses must undergo a satisfactory ECG, and trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before being accepted for any future event.

RACE 5 – KENTUCKY EQUINE RESEARCH MAIDEN PLATE (2nd Division) 1211 metres

No report.

RACE 6 – ALAN CRUICKSHANK MEMORIAL CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1311 metres

KULCURNA (D. Tootell) jumped away very awkwardly and as a result lost some ground.

In the vicinity of the 700 metres TAGO (W. Kerford) shifted out and bumped GORDON MACALMAN (S. Price), which in turn shifted out and bumped HUG A MUG (J. Holder).

Subsequent to the race and endoscopic examination of LEMOXIE revealed the mare was suffering from pharyngitis. Mr. D. Halliday, Trainer of LEMOXIE, was advised that a Veterinary Certificate of Fitness to Race would be required before accepting for a future event.

RACE 7 – BARDRILL / SABIS THREE-YEAR-OLD CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1411 metres

CYCLONE DOLLY was a late scratching by the Stewards, acting on Veterinary advice, at 2.55 p.m.

CIELO LAHA (J. Potter) showed a tendency to race ungenerously in the early stages.

In the vicinity of the 1000 metres YOUNG SMYTZER (D. Carney), which was pulling fiercely, shifted out and as a result VIGNOR (P Gatt) was taken wider.

Over the concluding stages COUPE DE BLU (D. Tootell) showed a tendency to lay out.

RACE 8 – BAKER YOUNG 2 YEARS & UP MAIDEN PLATE – 1611 metres

Near the 1300 metres TRUTRICITY (J. Bowditch) dipped and became unbalanced for a short distance.

In the vicinity of the 600 metres DEMONDO (J. Maund) and TIERRA DEL FUEGO (C. Bryant) bumped.

Near the 500 metres TASHILADO (M. Neilson) was momentarily held up for a clear run.

Near the 400 metres TASHILADO (M. Neilson) and TIERRA DEL FUEGO (C. Bryant) bumped.
