Jockey G LEFOE rider of STIRLING LAKE reported to Stewards that his mount had hung out from the 600 metre mark until straightening. Stewards asked trainer Mr P MOODY if he could offer any explanation to KUCITE’s improvement from his previous start on 20.10.01. Mr MOODY stated that KUCITE was having his first start on a sand track on that occasion and had suffered a check as the start was effected. KUCITE had the resented the sand coming back and he also believed that the horse did not handle the damp conditions of the track. Mr MOODY believed that today’s track conditions suited the horse and the removal of blinkers were also a benefit. Mr MOODY’S explanation was noted by Stewards.
