Since being retired to stud in 1994, the Desert Sun story
has been one remarkable success story.
A moderate performer on the track Desert Sun won three
races. A winner at two he came close to a Grade Two win in America when he finished third
in the Bel Air Handicap at Hollywood.
But the son of Green Desert is quickly establishing himself
as a sire of some of Australasias best performers. With the likes of Sunline, La
Bella Dama, Moralee, Desert Ace, Thee Old Dragon, Maudie, Te Akau Sun, Real Time, Dazzling
Belle and La Chamane all performing in sensational style theres little doubt the
Desert Sun story has only just begun.
Now based in Victoria at one of the countrys most
progressive studs Eliza Park, Desert Sun is one mighty looking stallion. A ball of muscle,
Desert Sun throws some mighty strong and powerful youngsters.
The Eliza Park colt (pictured above) who is from the four
time winning Buena Shore mare Cloudway is one cracking colt. He is a half brother to the
New South Wales stakes winning stars Zephyrz and Cloudlet.
Cloudlet is of course the dam of the boom John Wallace
trained two-year-old Dynamic Dancer. A youngster by Danehill Dancer, he turned in one of
the best wins seen in Brisbane in recent times late last year and was on track for the
Magic Millions before breaking down. He is sure to bounce back bigger and better than ever
        later this year.
The colt is sure to be sought out by Victorian owners and
trainers as he is eligible for Super Vobis payments. |
