Hahndorf based
breeder Trevor Harrington is enjoying a great run with his resident mares at his property,
Oakside Park Stud in recent times, and one of them Regent Appeal is the envy of many local
breeders. A winning two-year-old daughter of New
Regent, Regent Appeals latest yearling, a chestnut filly by Australian Guineas
winner Baryshnikov (a half brother to Zabeel), is offered for sale in Adelaide this month.
So far Regent Appeal has had four runners on the track.
Vitalrex, a winner and city placegetter, and Shebensopdet, a dual winner this season, are
two of her four runners to date. The other two are the black type performers Prince Raja
and Rachaels Pride.
Prince Raja was a star local two-year-old last season. His
win in the listed Walter Brown Stakes last year was as good as a win can be. He was also
runner-up in both the listed Balcrest Stakes and listed Alcohol Go-Easy Stakes.
His younger half sister Rachaels Pride, a daughter of
Oaksides first season sire Akhadan, was third in the listed Dequetteville Stakes on
debut at the start of this season.
Regent Appeals dam, the lightly raced Big Joker mare
Enchanted Appeal, is a half sister to the Aqueduct stakes winner Prince of Gold. Enchanted
Appeal is also a half sister to the unraced Swapi, whos son Yacalaca won an
incredible 42 races five at stakes level.
Enchanted Appeals grandam High Voltage was the
Champion American Two-Year-Old Filly of 1954. She was a five time Group One winner from 13
victories in total. High Voltages immediate family includes Group One winners Great
Power and Majestic Light. |
