Australians love nothing more than Rory's Jester. A flashy chestnut he was born and raised
just an hour's drive from the Morphettville Racecourse, and he was trained by one of SA's
favourite sons CS Hayes. Next month the current
day siring star, now a spritely 21-year-old stallion will be well represented with a dozen
of his yearlings to go under the hammer at the 2002 Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
Rory's, who's the pride and joy of Collingrove Stud which is
jointly owned by the Hayes and Sangster families, is one mighty stallion.
A son of Crown Jester he shot to prominence by winning the
1985 Golden Slipper at Rosehill and at the end of that season he was crowned the Champion
        Two-Year-Old of Australasia.
But it's been his achievements as a sire, which has set
Rory's apart from any other Slipper winner in the past.
His stakes winners tally is growing day after day. Chortle,
Aragen, Racer's Edge, Isca, Apollo Wonder, Moss Rocket, It's a Giggle, Catnipped, Speed
Week, Spargo, Happy Giggle, North Boy, Bounce Again, Comical Asset-Dashing Dragon, Jester
        Royale, Laser Beam etc etc.
Two years ago Rory's paved his way into the history books in
Adelaide when a filly half sister to Nina Haraka sold for a record $230,000.
Last year a record 18 yearlings were catalogued and again
they realised top prices. There's no surprise with that though - he is Australia's most
tried, tested and most importantly successful stallion.
There's no six firgure service fee like his major
Australasian rivals Danehill and Zabeel, it's just that speed and natural ability that he
passes on to his progeny that sets Rory's Jester away from most of his rivals.
Back in South Australia - the state which he took his first
breath, his first step, his first stride, his first track gallop and he first shone like a
star of the future - Rory's Jester is set to star again, just like that his filly did in
        2000.
