The
half sister to champion New Zealand mare Sunline has failed to sell during the second
session of the 2002 Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast this
afternoon. Bidding for the bay filly began at
$300,000 and rose in rapidly rates in $50,000 bids before stalling at $800,000.
The filly who is by Danehill was offered by Dr Jack
Woolridge's Inverness Stud and will for the moment return to that farm unless a deal comes
through in the next few days.
Woolridge revealed the sale of the filly was within a
whisker.
"I would have sold her with one more bid. I was hoping
for more than $800,000, but we couldn't passed that figure," he said.
"So unless something comes up in the next few days she
will return to my farm and we would look at racing her before an eventual breeding
career," Woolridge added.
Woolridge also revealed that leading buyer and trainer Gai
Waterhouse had expressed her interest in training the youngster.
