A
daughter of the former brilliant two-year-old filly Loving Cup has been sold for $400,000
during the first session of the Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold
Coast late today. A winner of five races,
Loving Cup will probably be best remembered for her third placing in the Golden Slipper.
Her best wins came in the listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes at
Flemington, the listed Silver Jubilee Stakes at Moonee Valley and the listed Balcrest
Stakes in Adelaide. In her early days she also placed in the Adelaide Million Stakes and
later also placed in the Group Three Tramway Handicap in Sydney.
Offered by Collingrove Stud the filly was knocked down to
leading bloodstock buyer Mark Pilkington for $400,000.
She became the second highest priced yearling of the sale at
the time. The highest priced lot, also a Danehill filly, from the Melbourne Cup winner
Jezabeel was sold for $425,000 earlier in the afternoon. |
