The excitement
is building in New Zealand as yearlings begin filing into their temporary homes at the
Karaka Sale Centre outside of Auckland awaiting their possible sale during the New Zealand
Bloodstock's Sales which kick off next Monday. New
Zealand Bloodstock's Marketing Manager and Bloodstock Co-ordinator Julia Naismith says
most people are now trying to predict the potential sale topped in what is a classic
catalogue.
"With the first of the yearlings already arriving at
Karaka, the speculation has well and truly begun about which of them will emerge as the
stars of the show," Naismith said.
Reading this year's Karaka catalogue is one mighty task,
with all of Australasias top sires represented.
"Leafing through the Premier catalogue reveals page
after page of top class pedigrees, virtually any one of them could possibly bring big
money," Naismith added.
As usual the kings of the Australasian breeding scene
Danehill and Zabeel are both well represented with eight and 53 yearlings respectively.
Adding further intrigue to the sale is the amount of
promising first season sires with progeny on offer. Among them are Bahhare, Bubble Gum
Fellow, Desert Prince, Distorted Humor, End Sweep, Generous, Gilded Time, Peintre Celebre,
Red Ransom, Shovhog and Tale of the Cat. |
